I saw this clip at random today, and it made me think of the blacklists some people use here.

There's no real reason to chime in on this one... but if you were a fan of the strip find a bit or two to add.

My wife does too. She'll read them with my eight year old son. He will read the Calvin parts and she reads everything else... he really is a lot like to character in soooo many ways it's almost eerie.

A strange picture. I feel like it goes against the whole spirit of C&H.

I don't know... it's certainly more abrasive than Watterson ever was. I think Calvin was so determined to get things his way that the list of people who he didn't like would have been rather extensive. Again, the foulness of the altered image is nothing like the tone of the comics.

Is it even possible to forget Calvin and Hobbes? One of the all-time greats, always smart and original. And above all else, Watterson knew when to end it, instead of letting it crawl endlessly to milk the brand as much as possible.

Not exactly a Calvin & Hobbes comic per se, but a pretty cool tribute to Bill Watterson and which I feel perhaps many around SteamGifts may be able to relate to:

Here's another tribute of sorts - it's a re-imagining of Calvin & Hobbes, 26 years later...

Plus also check out this.

Those are pretty great, such an interesting perspective from someone who grew up with Calvin & Hobbes as a kid and is now a father myself. Thank you for sharing!

Supposedly this is on Netflix at present, but I have not had an account there for awhile. I've heard really good things about this, but apparently the critics are not fans... I suppose Seth Green rarely gets a break though.

Dear Mr. Watterson

Loos interesting, I tend to not really care about critical/popular reviews because experience has taught me that my own opinions often don't align with the consensus and that everyone can relate to material in different ways based on their background. Thanks for sharing, and I can confirm it's currently available on Netflix USA.

My three cats back in the 90's were called Calvin, Hobbes & Susie Derkins.

Here are Calvin & Hobbes, from before Susie joined the family. Pretty obvious which one's which!

Oddly enough... when I think of him as Calvin it helps me to avoid getting more frustrated than I should. That in turn makes handling the situations much easier. So it looks like I owe Mr. Watterson a thank for you for help in parenting.

One of my favourite comic strips of all time. I was so bummed when he said he was going to retire. I have all the books, and I've read them all numerous times. I really enjoyed when he created mayhem and terror with his snowmen (and snowmonsters). Spaceman Spiff was pretty good as well.

My wife likes Foxtrot quite a bit, and she shares them with me from time to time. I haven't made the personal effort to open the comic strip section of a newspaper in years. I'd bet the only one I would recognize today would be Garfield... because he never goes away.

Looks like it was Casper en Hobbes in its Dutch Translation... the French translation is pretty much the same as the English one. See if you can find some Casper en Hobbes... I'd venture a guess that most people would enjoy the comic.
