Lord of the Ring Online vs Star Treck Online

Name some elements you want in the game. Party play, free roam, quest progression, crafting idk?

Well with lord of the rings online if your really into it you have to spend lots to get all of the main xpacs and there are still tons of smaller packs to buy and with star trek you get all of the content plus user made stuff.

With both unless i am mistaken you can earn earn money in game to spend on the cash shop though both tend to be on the expensive side.

after that its which of the two lore's do you like more and i think the download size is about the same.

STO - LOTRO (7-1)

For me lore wise I preferred lore of the rings (had a dungeon diver experience).

but sto can be much more fun
bit cheaper too

STO. Last time I checked, LotRO had a paywall (you cannot progress unless you spend money in the cashshop). Yes, you can earn Turbine currency by playing the game, a feature both games have. STO doesn't have a cap on the amount of currency you can earn, nor does the game require you to constantly start over on a fresh character on different servers like LotRO does.

STO - i have some premium stuff(fleet ships)without penny spend. On time of time, there are special events which ease the grind fest. It is quite fun and unless you do PvP - casual. In PvP the things might get a bit too hardcore sometimes (Yes i am talking about the wizards with hot keys and months spend in getting that item which grant 2% or 3% advantage over the rest of the crowd) The PVE events are more than enough.

LOTRO, it's totally FREE.
You can buy Quest Packs and Expansion Pack doing achievements where you get Turbine Points for Free.
