There is an option to do this using VPN. But my question is, why would you like to do this? I think you'll pay a little less in EUR.

Would have been easier to count for me, as I usually get USD on paypal.

Do not let PayPal do conversions for you. Yes, this means you always have to click on conversion options, and manually select payment in the original currency. While there may be a place where PayPal's conversion is better than what your bank offers, that place is unlikely in Europe. It's just added fuckery that it offers conversion to USD, while your linked bank account likely uses Forint, I would assume. So when you let them, you pay PayPal for their generous USD-EUR conversion, and then your bank have you pay for HUF-USD conversion. If you tell PayPal to charge in EUR, you will pay for a single HUF-EUR conversion only.
I don't know why I'm reading month-old topics, this tab just randomly popped up.

Yeah, I think there are fees when converting, too. But in my opinion, it still may be a better deal paying in EUR. For example:

  • Humble Choice - 11,99 $ or 9,99 EUR
  • Career Break Bundle - 15$ or 14,58 EUR

According to googled paypal resources, the conversion fee for paypal is 4.5%, so working off that and your numbers:
9.99 EUR -> 10.44 USD (post-conversion)
14.58 EUR -> 15.24 USD (post-conversion)

Going off that, I suppose it would come down to "whichever is best varies depending on what you're buying".

If your numbers on Choice are correct (and as Google does pull up the same, there doesn't seem to be any error there), and the individual is mostly only buying Choice (as would be expected of those encountering the current Humble's limited non-Choice selection), those paying with Euro should be coming out well ahead overall, even with conversion fees and the occasional non-Choice purchase.

So, as you noted, it does seem to be a better deal at present to be purchasing using Euro. That may change if the Euro climbs back up from its current 1:1 value against the USD or if Humble changes its Choice pricings to be more comparable; However, at present- since the only real point of consideration is conversion fees, and current Choice pricing seems to be based more on past Euro valuation- Euro purchase would likely indeed be the better option.

Thank you for helping! I will not be bothering with changing to USD then!

I used to be able to pay in USD there because somehow old HB detected my datacenter IP as North American. At some point it became a nightmare though, with them asking for a bloody phone verification every single time, and randomly either approving or refusing (my guess is, because my phone number didn't match the IP country).
I ended up just setting my account to EUR because it was just hell. Now I always set charity to the max though. After all, they should expect getting punished by the customers they punished first.

I know what but I usually get sent USD instead of EUR. I wouldn't have even asked if I would pay with EUR.
