I'd tell you more, but that might be construed as saying too much. Unless your search results are vastly different than mine though (Google does try to personalize results) it should be very easy to find if you've got a sharp eye.

Eh.... I find question 4 a trick question as depending on the context even in what they mean it means different things. Aka check the other results in that area if not using it and it still does things.

You do know that first one is not really correct. You have to use a special summation and stuff like that (I don't really want to go all mathematical, but you can't get a cleat answer if you are trying to sum infinite amount of numbers).

I did and that's what they told me. You can also check Terry Tao's blog about it with title "The Euler-Maclaurin formula...", now I can't really argue here, because posting some links would lead into spoiling the puzzle.

solid? it's maths it's never solid. i'm sure somebody f**ked up somewhere and every other mathematicians and physicists were like "wow what a fascinating result and proof. let's go with it." it's just... come on how can it be this?

Already own but wanted to see if I could solve this, so bump for solved. Question 2 took me a little while to get and I imagine question 1 could be quite hard to those who haven't covered a certain area of maths.
