Hello!

At the relase of TW3, a lot of people that bought the GOG version reported major problems with GOG such as impossible updates for TW3 etc. Just look at it : https://www.google.fr/search?client=opera&q=the+witcher+3+gog+problem&sourceid=opera&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8#q=the+witcher+3+gog+issues&*

Now that I have time to play this wonderful game, what do you think if I buy the CD version (so GOG), are these problems now solved and GOG is now less buggy ?

Thanks!

^ This, playing W3 in Polish with subtitles creates massive immersion, I recommend it to everybody and so far everybody enjoyed it.

And yes, GOG is fine now.

Yes, although it's a bit harder - for W1 you must download localization patch (original from CDPR) - I can give you links if needed.

I played and completed it on launch and had no issues. Well no issues with the game. There were issues with some Galaxy functionality but the game ran just fine.

EDIT: Bugs./Suggestions is for site related bugs and suggestions.

The GOG version runs great. The initial issues you see on the GOG forums are about the instability of the GOG servers however Galaxy is getting better with every update and is still a whelp to Steam comparatively. Although they're the same game with the same features/extras it'd make more sense that the game would run better on GOG considering both CD Projekt RED and GOG are subsidiaries of CD Projekt.
Most users encountering the "Server problem." say that downloading from the GOG.com website rather than the Galaxy client fixes this. Since most the the reports on this issue were early 2016 and have since been sparse or non-existent you can assume all is good.

The GOG version worked flawlessly for me, since day 1. The problem was that many people used Galaxy, which is still in beta, ignoring that you can download the game using the old gog downloader. Still, you can use gog galaxy now, or the old downloader if you want. The game will run without any problems anyways.

Oh, and don't forget to check the nexus site, plenty of awesome mods there, like these ones:

Do not run GOG Galaxy client with Witcher 3. You can play the game without having to activate the Galaxy client.

I don't think there's an issue with that GOG game. I torrented GOG copy and it worked just fine, and I could apply manual updates as well.

Thanks everyone! I will go for it :)

But do we need GOG Galaxy to update the game ?

Only if you don't want to update manually.
