The Solution (Read: Walkthrough) [Puzzleception Train]

This is just me being a troll. Don't stab me for making my puzzles too hard :3

Itsnottoohard Solution:

Well, this part is about the hint you get from solving the itstoohard puzzle > Solution: Rick Astley;80;Kannada;8.02
The text says "Check my other yarns :3." > Yarn is another word for thread.
Also, the cat is referring to a thread.

Okay, so, I left these three hint in case people were confused about what yarn was,

1. This is a cat face: (=^・・^=). It was to help you figure out what to do with the solution to the itstoohard puzzle.
   The lyrics of the song say ♪Just go back to the places where we used to go and I'll be there.♪
   Therefore, you had to go to the thread I created before this date: http://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/wAbgR/

2. This is two people happily holding hands: ヽ(・∀・)人(・∀・)ノ. The lyrics of the first song ♪Just be friends. All we gotta do is just be friends♪... Hopefully at this point you would have realized that I was talking about this thread: http://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/wAbgR/
   The additional hint: ♪If I was invisible♪ was referring to the fact that there was a hidden giveaway there.
   If you mouse over the word "friend" you would have noticed this: ಠ_ಠnR5f?
   Hmm, what's that? A partial giveaway code? Why, yes!

3. So, what were you supposed to do to find the rest? Go fishing (;`ー´)o/￣￣￣￣~>ﾟ))彡 ♪Under the Sea♪ (Read: source code)
   If you viewed the source of the thread.. you would have noticed a looooooooong string of garbled latin that I pasted three times... Now, looking carefully, you would have noticed that all spaces had been replaced by a period. But, anyway, you could have found this using two methods: either by using Ctrl+F on sections of text until you found something different, or using Ctrl+F to highlight all periods. Anyway, if you looked carefully enough, you would have found something out of place: .M..

Putting together the two pieces nR5f + M got you to where you needed to be to solve the puzzle: nR5fM

This is where the Puzzleception puzzle started. There's no special meaning to the intermission music. However, I did hide some secret instructions here to try and help people decipher the puzzle. I've broken the tag so you can see it.

Miss the train? Looking for the lost and found?

Well, how can you miss a train if it hasn't started yet? I was obviously talking about a train from before :3.
Also, the "lost and found" part was for people who got there before the giveaways ended. It implied that people had to go back to where they had already been to find something they lost.

Now, for the music clue: ♪Closing time. Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end.♪
Well, this Puzzleception Train was a new beginning, which came from the the first giveaway in the train that ended just a few hours earlier (at the time).

1. Find the engine room!

The engine is something that comes at the front of the train.
Also, these lyrics, ♪Come, come, come into my world♪ suggested you had to find something that I made and go there.

PS: MiniOne Racing was at the end of the train. "You have arrived at your destination" was the text I had there originally to inform visitors that they had found the end of the train.

Also, "We're sorry; you have reached a number that has been disconnected or is no longer in service." was supposed to imply that you were in the wrong place and should look elsewhere. Most people seem to have missed that reference, though. (I posted the message more than half a dozen times)...

2. Post the correct thing

You had to post a specific message, and the lyrics ♪Say my name, say my name♪ told you exactly what I wanted you to post: mecorx >_>. Technically, you were all set after completing steps 1 & 2...

3. Wait for the printer

Well, the printer printing tickets (read: whitelist invites) was me. Of course, I have to sleep and go to work, so I can't have been here the whole time. Therefore, this message was just here to inform you that you might have to wait a while to find out if you did the right thing. Realistically, if you didn't hear back within 12 hours, you should have tried a different solution - I added all solvers on Steam to personally inform them that they had succeeded.

Now, the lyrics: ♪What you waiting, what you waiting, what you waiting, what you waiting, what you waiting for. Tick, tock, tick, tock, take a chance...♪ These didn't mean a whole lot... I think I wanted to tell people to take a chance and try different things to solve the puzzle.

4. Shhh (Optional...)

Uhh, this was just a suggestion from me, that people who solved the puzzle should keep quiet, so as not to give away the solution

Anyway, the lyrics ♪white flag above my door♪... Well, I obviously wasn't going to find someone singing "whitelist" so, this was the best I could do >_>...

Lyrics: ♪It's been one week...♪. That meant August 15. I ended up writing it in the open so that people wouldn't miss the train because they missed the deadline.

===The Station===
You look left and right, and notice you are surrounded by other eager, potential passengers.

Having a hard time? Perhaps you should consult the others waiting together with you at the station.
Also, you notice a payphone at the end of the platform.

Here is where I tried to offer some advice to you weary puzzle solvers. Yes, you were allowed to work together with each other, but it seems like not many of you did. Oh well.

Also, the payphone was to see how many people came to visit. It looks like 117 of you answered you were stressed, 28 answered that you weren't stressed. There were a total of 145 respondents, so I guess at least 145 people tried my puzzle. Interesting, very interesting.

You look under the platform and find a hatch labeled Admit Five with a slot for a ticket...
It looks like you'll need to get in line early to get into this compartment.

This was a special early-bird giveaway for Life is Strange Episodes 1-5 for the first 5 people who solved my puzzle.

...You blink a few times and notice the compartment is gone. Maybe it was just your imagination.

This simply implied that the early-bird special offer had expired. Good luck you five!

wow, what a big puzzle, i stayed at its to harc anyway xD i cant sole q3 :/

I got to say, it was really nerve-wrecking but I also kinda enjoyed solving the puzzle.
Also, I feel smart now ≧◔◡◔≦

I felt overjoyed after I figured it out (though I was absolutely pissed at mecorx when he friended me, because I couldn't believe it was that simple xD) and now I just feel lucky and stupid for not having seen it sooner. I also didn't figure out that the engine room was what it was by it being the first in the train, I ended up just counting the number of edited/deleted comments. ;D
