Battlestar Galactica, any good?

My friends tell me it's good but I haven't watched it yet, maybe I should?

It's absolutely the best sci-fi series I've ever watched.
And to call it sci-fi is a small scope. It's actually more like an action drama on a fantasy scale

It's a great series. I really enjoy watching the pilot episode (a whooping 3h long episode) again and again. It sets a pace that no other show ever had.

Though like most series that passed on big channels, it has its flaws. But it is a great experience, it is super well made, and there's character development like in nothing else. And it makes you wonder how you'd act if such events were to happen. Probably the best sci-fi series I've ever watched.

BSG is definitely one of my favorite series, but some people hate its finale almost as much as the one from LOST. :-/

For me it was good but not great. I hate all those camera shots that are useless and gives you the impression that the show is sooooo slow (guy shaving, guy drinking...) Not as good as any (post TOS) Star trek series or Farscape IMO.

I really liked it.
However, there's a mid-game part when the series become slightly boring. Almost as if the writters are out of ideas.
The last 2 seasons are godlike , tho.

First two seasons are really great, the other two (with movies) are worse but it's still a good series.

Never watched the newest one, but I watched the classic with some friends a year or so ago and it was great, especially for its time

I'm in the middle of the first season (2004) and for now I'm really liking it. Give it a shot if you like SF.

The remake is my favourite sci-fi series. I love the mythology surrounding it and the show covers a lot of topics which many shows can't pull off as well as BSG. Definitely give at least the first series a watch.

I found most of the characters to be extremely annoying (the remake).
