As long as people are buying it, they will charge for it.

No way there is huge difference between TF2 and Counter-Strike series.
Maybe they lower the price in a few years but free nop at least in next 10 years.

1% , as long as cheating is possibile there is almost no chance that CS GO will be free to play.

Maybe one day when servers are good enough to keep all informations on server-side and not affect FPS, gameplay and to not have any problems, but CS GO MM doesn't have 128 tick servers so i don't think Valve will put informations on server-side when they don't even give 128 tick servers.

I would say only 1 % chance is that CS GO will be F2P one day, but 99 % that it is not possibile because of cheating.

It won't become F2P anytime soon.

But I sure wish they'd get the Linux port finished for us penguins.

What so the servers are always full due to anyone can play it then the ones who paid won't be able to get on a server and also it would mean that kids without Debit/Credit cards will be able to play it and spam the microphones with their nonsense.

Priority login already works for many other games that went f2p but kept a premium model.

Kids with debit/credit cards can already play CS:GO and spam the microphones with their nonsense. They get muted/kicked/banned by responsible OPs. There are only so many Steam accounts to go around, and you can always whitelist in the same way that SteamGifts whitelists.

It will at some point, ignore people saying it won't be f2p because CS:S and CS1.6 aren't f2p.
They are not the same game, if CS:GO goes f2p valve will still make money from steam market and CS:GO store now if CS:S and CS1.6 were f2p how would they make money?

Maybe not now because it is selling well but it will, like what happened to tf2

I'm guessing before the Christmas sale.
They're already cleaning up with skin, sticker and crate sales. No need to keep making people pay for the game when so much money is being brought in by the market. And making it free increases the market volume accordingly.

F2P for other parts and B2P for competitive mode might be an option.
