  1. Q: What will be added to this thread?
    • A: A quote from Lugum:
    • Anything that is temporary free that otherwise normally would cost money

    • A2: I will add a forever free X if it was made/uploaded recently on Itch (or if you leave a comment about it).
  2. Q: Why X is marked as repost?
    • A: I search if X was posted in this thread: LINK
    • A2: Or check other sources like my little Itch sale history.
  3. Q: Why X is not claimable?
    • A: As long as X is on -100% sale it will be here~
  4. Q: This isn't a game!
    • A: Well, rarely there are game assets or table games on sale. Examples: LINK LINK2 LINK3

Does anyone know if they do this often? I'm wondering if I should be checking them every day, like I do with GOG and Humble.

No idea ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Usually there are more sales on holidays: Example

I started the first original itch.io thread, was all explained. ;)

To check www.itcho.io/sales and they would release new games each week.

A few games each week, i would say check 1-2 times a week. (often games are free for a good week though some might just be a few days so you can risk missing it).

Thanks; that's extremely helpful! I like your avatar, too; Squall's an old favorite of mine!

Thanks, yeah picked Squall for his whole loner thing, can relate a bit, loved this quote too. :p

Why do people depend on each other?) (In the end, you're on your own.) (I've made it this far by myself.) (Sure, I couldn't do a thing when I was a kid...) (I've depend on others, but...) (I'll be the first one to admit that I'm here because of other people.)...(I'm fine by myself now. I have all the skills I need to survive. I'm not a child anymore.) (That's a lie. I don't know anything. I'm confused.) (I don't want to depend on anyone. How can I do that?) (Someone tell me...) (Someone? So I'll end up depending on others after all.)

Likewise; when Final Fantasy 8 came out, Squall is almost exactly who I was: solitary, taciturn, cynical, and logical to the exclusion of most social skills. These days, I'm still solitary when it comes to myself, but I'm all about offering my support to those in need, like that mom that's always waiting for you when you need to come home from wherever you are out in the world.

It all depends on the games' creators; they have full control over when and if they do sales. There are holiday sales organized by the site, but they're not the huge deal that sales on Steam or even GOG/Humble are. For the record, the sales page on itch doesn't always have all the sales that are on the site; the top games on sale always has them all, but you'll have to sift through more to get to free games.

Also great; thank you! I'm always on the lookout for new games, too, so even if I have to sift through things, I'm sifting through things that might potentially interest me.

Well for most steam games you can check the reddit (google steam free reddit) and there are places that will also tell you about GOG and EPIC, but don't think there is really any notification site for itch.io stuff unfortunately.

You can pay what you want, also 0, and get a linux download.

Free is free.

I know :D

But if I do that, it'll be a looooooong post and you can find it searching the newest free games (I tried to search by newest, free and last 30 days trying to find this game, but I failed...). Now I don't know if it's a good idea to add this type of free games (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ

Anything that is temporary free that otherwise normally would cost money (such as this case) yeah i think should be added.

I tried to find more information about this game, but all I can find is that it'll be free. I hope to get the end date so I know when to delete it.

The issue is that I don't know if it is temporary free. Sorry for bothering you...

Hey everybody. We've decided to make Basingstoke FREE for Linux, and over the coming months when I get a bit of time, I'm going to upload all our other games to itch.io too, and they'll be FREE for Linux as well (...)

Oh you mean there is no end date, then i misunderstood, and yeah that might suggest it will be free permanent, which would be weird to still ask $30 for windows users and on steam.
It''s already free 22 days.

Then yeah you can't make a long list of that.

What's up with Basingstoke? Game looks interesting but I'm not a Linux user so that's a flawed offer to me, and no way would I pay $25 just to get his game on Windows, which seems really steep. And all his games free for Linux users? What is Linux, the equivalent of a 3rd world country or something? From the way he's making it sound.

When it's free and can be partially treated as a demo/teaser, I can heartily recommend it. You can check my review here. Really nice 1-2 hour experience with an ending a bit too much like for a demo, not a standalone chapter.
