I was wondering how the rest is keeping up with the second wave?
I was at home for several months, went back to job experience thing for about 2 weeks, it was already a small place and no way to social distance, and 20 more people were supposed to join.
In which i decided to move on and find something else, which is a pity, because i setup a whole pc repair service.

But now the second wave just hit us, since i belong in some risk factors, i am weary to start (again) elsewhere but if i decide to stay at home again, it won't do me much good job wise later on because we most likely get an economic crisis.
So unless we get a total lockdown (which might be possible) i kinda feel like i just have to go while i rather not, but i guess more people will have that they feel they need to work, else they might not have an income, lose their job etc, it's also leading a lot of people towards depression (which also ties in with winter coming).
But there are also, for some reason, denying the whole existence of corona, or are you like Trump and just treat it like a flu?

When you feel like you wasted a whole year.
I still remember the first wave.

[EDIT] Seems The Netherlands is in the top 3 of doing the worst, with Spain and France.

Is corona affecting your life?

View Results
Yes, corona is affecting my life, I wish it was over
No, it doesn't really bother me
I don't know

Well it is affecting my life a lot.

I did lose my job and it is hard to find a new one now.

Also parents of friend's friend did die.

And I know people who are sick right now and we can only hope they will survive and if they are lucky maybe live without any problems with internal organs.

And at the same time my sister is in UK doing research with her team to get as much information about the virus and to find the best ways to fight it.

All we can hope is that virus will mutate into becoming a weaker not a stronger one.

Let's just hope that before the end of 2021 it will all be over and we all will be able to get back to our normal lives :)

I'm a risk group, but I was mostly staying inside home before Corona. So now that only increased, but it doesn't affect me much.

There isn't much of a second wave here, 0-10 people die every day in my country. Pretty much everything at my university is in distance mode, which is great for studying since it gives me more active study time but it's absolutely awful for my social life since I barely know the people in my class. Pretty much the only person I've made friends with so far is my lab partner who I ended up catching feelings for and getting rejected by, so as soon as that course is over I'll have 0 friends lol. A 50 person limit on everything doesn't help me make friends either.

At least I'm getting by, so I'm still in a much better position than many others. Stay safe everyone <3

I work on the management part of a health instituction, so it affected me with more work to do, way more. But it also gave me visibility and I ended up with a promotion, wich I never imagined happening right now in those financially circunstances. My parents, who are from risk groups, were diagnosed with covid 2 months ago and my dad had to intern on hospital, but they recovered and it's everything fine now. Also don't know anyone that had or has an aggravated case, so in all it affected me in a positive way.

I wish it was over, but not for people to pretend that it's over. For me it's going to be over when my family and me are vaccinated against it.
If we can't convince people to wear seatbelts and not to text and drive, I doubt that hand washing is as common as we need it to be.

Supposedly in Europe we got a second wave because certain people insisted on going on a holiday, like it's such a big deal to skip 1 year, and then go home and not go in quarantaine, so yeah.

It was a bit of a non-event here in Western Australia, apart from the idiots that cleaned out the supermarkets in preparation for some sort of lockdown that never happened. It affected restaurants and bars for a couple of months but it has pretty much been business as usual for several months now, albeit with many office workers spending only half as long in the office, and the main difference being that nobody can get into our state without undergoing mandatory quarantine. My life actually improved because they temporarily increased unemployment benefits because all the newly unemployed across the country would have revolted against the government when they found out how difficult survival is on the normal payment, so I don't have to make difficult decisions quite so often.

I have been working from home for months now. I missed going outside and talking to people face to face, but i also like the fact that i don't have to spend 2h to commute. I wish they will let me do this even after the whole thing ends.

I know it has been a tough year to some people though. I wish you guys all the best.

Here in USA we're still on the first wave. Or more like a tsunami. At its peak in April we were having about 2000 deaths per day from covid-19, now we are down to "only" about 750 deaths per day. But as the weather turns cold I fear things will start to accelerate again. We'll see how it goes.

For me, personally, I have been doing some form of "social distancing" my whole life anyway so I rather enjoy having a socially-acceptable excuse to stay away from people. And wearing a mask frees me to not worry about what kind of facial expressions I'm making. It doesn't help hide it when I roll my eyes though. :P

I haven't been inside a building other than my house, my office, dentist and hospital since March. I've gotten all groceries online and haven't gone to any restaurants. Just cooking everything at home. But it is honestly not a huge change in my lifestyle compared to before.

Got lucky and can stay at home almost all of the time. Cases are rising where I live, so I'm pretty happy to not have to use public transport right now. Fingers crossed the vaccines will work and we'll get enough of them by summer next year.

I work in healthcare in the US, I've kinda gotten used to it all considering COVID is mostly all i've been dealing with since the beginning.

I got infected last month and survived. I wasn't able to work for more than 20 days, and now I am back. Even though I don't know what I can expect now. It's been difficult, but not life-altering. I wish it was over too, because of my fear of my loved ones who might not be so lucky or healthy enough to survive it.

I just simply hate it because it's very hard to find a job in this period, also winter is coming and employment rates go down even more ... ugh.

As a freelancer, earnings down 40%.

As a human, I'm in quarantine with my wife, who has Covid as of now, but she is in good condition. Three members of extended family passed away in hospitals in past three days. A total of 18 persons were infected after a small family meeting (8 persons) outdoors where noone had symptoms, and suddenly after a few days 7 persons had symptoms, and 10 more persons they managed to meet (before they had symptoms). Everyone took normal precautions, face masks in shops, shopping only 1-2 times a week, sanitizing hands, washing hands.

Hospitals in Poland are chaos, nobody knows nothing.

I've already begun stockpiling supplies the past week just in case.

My main concern is that this will be a continuous event each Winter until a vaccine has been found.

I really hope that this second wave is the last

The main impact corona had for me and my partner, is that corona delayed our travel to our home country to visit family.

If we don't go this xmas, it would be 2 years+ that we don't see them, for the elderly, these are trying times both if we go or if we don't...ultimately, after immense struggle, we decided to go - but the logistics have been crazy - blowing up all the vacation days to account for the quarantine, paying for the covid test out of pocket for peace of mind, talking with the elderly to make them understand that they have to respect quarantine safety measures (european country whose culture include hugs and kisses) which is terribly difficult, and they still don't understand or agree yet as to why we "have to be separate in the first 2 weeks after arrival"...

Corona has impacted everyone in varying degrees...but I wish much strength to everyone, as we will get out of this - this isn't the 1st pandemic humanity survived, after all :)

It appears I've got the corona. I've been an essential worker through the whole drama, I've even been working extra hours which is one of the reasons I haven't been around much. One of my colleagues got sick and tested positive last week. After some consideration health and safety said everybody was fine because we hadn't spent 15m minutes within 2m of the individual or some such. Yesterday I got symptoms and got sent home. I've spent today playing on the Nintendo Switch I bought a while back with all my overtime money and had been collecting dust but I'm starting to feel quite ill now. Through the whole thing I've been undecided if this was real or a hoax for big coroporations to take over the world or for globalists to institute some shadowy NWO but right now I've got an ache all through my chest and my breathing isn't right and I've left a window wide open so my cat doesn't have to eat my corpse. Hopefully I'm being a dickhead and having some sort of panic attack or something but if that isn't the case I wish everybody here all the best. I haven't got to the stage of wiping my hard drives yet though, so I'm just maudlin at this time rather than genuinely expecting the worst.

But you did spend closer for a few minutes? Never heard about a time limit for distancing.

Also got a switch gathering dust, then again so do my ps4/xbox but i got so much on steam alone. But after playing on the switch, i was like oh another Mario Kart, another Super Smash been there done that.

Hope you will do better soon, you gonna get a test?

Now the question, what you got hiding on your hard drives? :p

We were definitely closer for a few minutes but if those rules had been applied it would have meant shutting down a major transport hub. One way or another somebody is going to be left holding the hot potato on that one. I'm waiting for a self-test kit thing to come in the post. At first I wasn't sure if I was just being paranoid but at this stage it feels like a formality. I've got all kinds of shit on my hard drives including the picture I drew of Morrigan Aensland with boobs haunted by Gabe Newell that I drew for a train last year that I never got the time to make.

Here where I live, they only opened up indoor dining and movie theaters 3 weeks ago. It's a mixed bag if anyone decides to wear a mask, but it seems most people don't care unless they're forced to. I live in a populated area, so although our cases have been dipping the last month, I expect them to quickly start rising within the next month again. I live with two at-risk people, so it's certainly something I worry about. My parents keep wanting to see me ever since I moved out a few months ago, but I keep trying to delay because I know they follow 0 precautions. I can't risk them getting me sick and then bringing it home.

So far, not really...university started and we have a mix of online and classroom courses, also still working on my master project but I hope it doesn't get more restricted since I have bigger film shoots in December, January and March with a few smaller ones in-between.
Also I was finally able to start working out in the gym again a week ago and would like to continue.
Being a self-employed freelancer and student is not that bad, others sadly definitely have it worse.

Me and my partner are really not being affected, as we are working from home. We don't even watch the new anymore to. So we are kinda far way from all the confusion and drama.

It only had a small impact on me. Now they've been taking our temperature every morning at work and we have to wear a mask. I just hope things don't get worse and they introduce more restrictions, like having to wear a mask outside as well.
