Yes, it does :-) ok, technically it's a pre alpha but it's sometimes reffered to as a multiplayer beta version

Qtest ≠ demo
Actually, it's both a techdemo and a pre-alpha/beta version of Quake. (however, it's not a beta in the sense that it was released to be betatested but it's also not intended as a demo version of Quake)
