Wondered the same thing, then I spent all the wallet funds. I've heard it's not optimized very well (from a guy with i7, 12 GB of RAM and GTX770).

It surprisingly runs well on my laptop, albeit low and 1080p. I've got an i5, 4gb of RAM and a GT 630M

At what settings?

it's at 1080p, but at low. I didn't actually expect it to run at all, but I got decent framerates. It could be more optimized than people think

Me too. I pre-ordered the Redux edition of both games during the Amazon price error last week.

It's an enhanced engine, and an overhaul "mod" for metro 2033. 2033 redux is not a simple patch, last light on the other hand is closer to a patch.

your point? he's only asking for metro last light redux not 2033. 2033 redux is worth it, not last light

it's optimized alright. runs perfectly on my PC, although I have Linux (Ubuntu). Don't know about win version.
My specs: i5-3220M @ 2.6GHz, 8GB Ram, Radeon HD8670M @ 2GB VRam

No point getting redux for Metro LL, get redux only for Metro 2033 because it will have enhanced graphics from Metro LL engine.

I've been playing Metro Last Light: Complete the passed couple of days and I'm loving it. Working on a Ranger Hardcore playthrough right now.

Now I'm incensed to finish my first playthrough after reading your post.

what is this redux anyway? As far as I see it is just a graphics/physics overhaul, but the bottom line is they are selling the same game again, even to those who already own the original? What the heck?

Graphics are the same. They probably threw in a new effect and said it's full price new release now.

Graphics are not the same. Redux is way more light. Original Metro games are darker.

The Last Light Redux also includes all dlc's.
And if you own the original LL & 2033, you get 50% off.

Get the redux if you want slightly different mechanics and gameplay elements, but the graphics are only minor changes. Also, it won't likely be this cheap anytime soon

for me it is not bloody cheap to first buy an original game and then being asked to pay for the same thing with different effects again. It does feel like a rip-off actually.

I know, I just meant if OP wants to get Last Light, then he should wait for redux - but it won't cost $7 anytime soon

The Redux is $25 base price, $12.50 if you already own Last Light, so if you buy it now, you can get Redux for a total of $19.29.

On the other hand, it's ridiculously cheap now so it might worth getting this now, play it and be done with it.
