Points are based on whatever the Steam API returns for the game / bundle in question.
Don't worry, your points will be restored once Steam decides to put the correct value in the API.
In the mean time I'm afraid all you can do is wait.

It's not Steam's fault, and you and jatan11t are wrong/ignorant/avoiding the actual problem. The Steam API is not giving those values, but the parsing on SteamGifts side is amateur at best. I've already documented this on another thread and SG staff is just lazy -- hence "waiting" instead of fixing the problem which is parsing the CORRECT value that contains the prices instead of using a janky shortcut.
