Which game should I get? I want to kill people for fun and something that will ease me from my boredom.

I prefer more realistic games, but Saints Row is an exception for me.
I want a game with a modding community (I myself don't make mods but I like using mods)
I prefer a game that has lots of customizabiility

So what do you think fits these qualities?

TL;DR I want an open world killing and driving game, what's better?

GTA IV
Pros:
The original open world killing game
modding community
Cons:
Kind of outdated
people with older computers are bound to experience lag

SR3
Pros:
Fun killing
pretty new and polished
Fun killing. Again.
Cons:
I don't personally know any

SD:
HAVE NO IDEA.

never played sleeping dogs... but...

if you want to go around causing mayhem and having a great time doing it, then get SR3!!!! I found SR3 to be more like a comedy version of GTA:SA. GTA4 is just... well... I found it boring. I felt really limited to what I could do and where I could go and having san andreas as my first gta game, it was a real letdown. so yeah, SR3 is more like SA if that's the kind of thing you're looking for.

I have not played sleeping dogs but it looks great. But SR3 have much fun. GtaIV is just playing with friends multiplayer with cheats.

Sleeping dogs looks really fun, pre-ordered a WHILE back.
But imo SR3, it's tons of fun by yourself even more fun with friends.
GTA IV is more realistic didn't enjoy as much but the mods are real nice.

Point to consider: GTAIV is a rock solid game and hella fun with friends, but it requires installation and use of GFWL.. That basically invalidated it all for me..

for me GTA IV vs SR3 because i dont own sd.

tl;dr gta is really long and at times just feels drawn out, but at its core its still just GTA, its not san andreas though.
" SR3 is pretty short if you play the story back to back, but very fun in its minigames!

SR3 is pretty fun, the missions are not as fun (not much of an argument or excuse as to why specifically you're doing what you do), but the whole over-the-top action is pretty unique,
BIGASS customization posibilities, haven't tried coop yet.
"unrealistic" (depends on how you look at it) behaviour of cars, weapons and pedestrians can (in my case) take away some of the fun

GTAIV is great, the missions are very varied, and since you don't have access to amazing weaponery from the get go such as in SR3, there's actually a challenge to finish some of them, lots of mods that further extend the gameplay or just the eye candy, haven't tried MP yet.

SD: No idea, can't really tell.

I'd say go for GTAIV, it's not that over the top as in SR3, it's really fun, and there's a certain degree of realism which makes the game really fun and challenging (driving, physics in general). If you're still looking for more customizability, then go for SR3, personally i wasn't that much into it due to its missions, but the game is actually fun.

I found SR3 is really quite fun, I love just rampaging around, racking up the kills and everybody's hot on my tail, and I'll just stroll into one of my shops and suddenly everybody just forgets I was ever there! CO-OP is quite enjoyable, it's fun to play with a friend, and you can do everything still just as normal.

If you want a really fun sandbox game with average story get SR3 but if you want an average interactive story with sandbox game parts go with GTA4. No idea about sleeping dogs.

Saints Row: The Third. It's a really fun game. And even more fun with a friend. You have a lot of things to do in this game, lot of challenges in it, you can edit your own character any time you want to etc.
GTA4 is a nice game too but it's not that good like SR3 in my opinion. And about Sleeping Dogs? No idea.

SR3 its awesome but lacking good story however coop and activites are fun
GTA 4 its awesome but that doesnt take the fact its an horrid port and poorly optimized
Sleeping Dogs= need to play it first

SR3 is a fun game due to the over-the-top insanity however this in turn kills any realism at all. GTA IV i didn't like because i felt like it focused TOO much on realism

GTA 4 + mods can't be beat. GTA 4 has a huge range of mods.

I was a huge fan of SR2 and thought SR3 was terrible. If you want a SR game then get 2.

GTA4, just because i find SR3 to be too silly for it`s own good, and sleeping dogs has a pretty small map compared to the other two

I like GTA IV better (especially the DLCs). SR3 just got boring to me. It almost felt like literally ever mission was completely the same.
