This excites me.

I'd drop the 'might'. I'm pretty confident that BG EE will sell and they will get their way with Planescape.

Now, about my free upgrade ...

MDK2 and BG2 were blockbusters. Planescape bombed. I wonder if they are accounting cult status for the remake, hoping it'll sell well, and not just remake their best selling games.

That must be one tall clock tower to shot whoever is involved with this who might live miles and miles away. Also very good range of that gun?

I would acutally prefer a PS:T remake over the BG series. The BG series was very fuctional and had much modding love.
PS:T had a couple of game breaking bugs that it seems nobody could ever fix (see the Musuem). I also find the UI a lot worse than BG/IWD and as I found out isn't very touchpad friendly.

PS:T is also stuck on the orginal BG infinity engine and didn't/couldn't be ported to the "updated" BG2 Infinity engine like the first Baldur's Gate. Hopefully the gemRB team will address this issue in the future but so far all focus is on the BG series.

If there was a single game I would have to pick for a remake though it would be Arcanum. A game which has so much promise, great setting, interesting characters but just feels so rushed and lacking polish. Lionheart would be a close second. I would also do crazy things like remake Fallout 1/2 using the Fallout Tactics most improved ruleset.
Come at me, turn based fans.

Remaking Torment seems kind of silly since the right way to play the game is basically talking your way out of every situation. It's not like I'd trust them to improve on the writing. I mean, I get why they'd do it for the more combat heavy games, but it just seems silly for this.

These guys sort of seem to be counting their chickens before they are hatched. In addition to this they've talked about doing a Baldur's Gate 3.

Planescape: Torment with a more modern engine and bug fixes would be nice. Combat? Well, there was that annoying underground section. Could be made better.

As for "counting chickens before they're hatched", I think it's good that they have plans for the future. It would be silly to just plan and execute one game, then say "ok, what do we do now?"

Fuck the naysayers, any remake of any infinity engine game is instant boner mode for me. This is the shit i grew up on. As much as ive been hearing of BG:EE, it wouldn't surprise me at all to see planescape get the treatment as well. Even if they don't change a thing, just fix the bugs and port it to a better engine, im totally ok with this. Anything to get that gem of a game into more hands so people actually know what they missed.

Agreed. I don't need changes to the game, just a new engine and bug fixes would be nice.
