Hello there!

In the past few weeks, I've been trying to reach the 50% mark in my Steam Average Game Completion Rate.
I did that today, earning my 2000th achievement in the process.

To progress faster, I obviously focused on games I had already begun, very easy/short games, and games with few achievements.
But several games weren't playable or simply wouldn't launch on my computer (I'm using a very low-specs PC right now, my usual one being down. I'm replacing it next month), so it took quite some time to reach 50%.

Anyway, to celebrate this pointless achievement, I'm giving away the HB Capcom bundle. Only the first tier though, because I'm broke (guys, I'm replacing my computer!):

Strider - Level 3
Bionic Commando: Rearmed - Level 4
Lost Planet 3 - Level 5

The first episode of Resident Evil Revelations 2 is for my whitelist. You can apply to be on it if you want. Just tell me how awesome you are!

Do you care about achievements when playing a game?

View Results
I try to 100% every game when possible.
I like unlocking achievements, but I don't focus on it.
I don't care at all.
I prefer unlocking a potato.

I'm so awesome I can slam a revolving door :3

Some time ago I looked at my completion % and saw 23%. It looked rather poorly. So I maxed out few easy games and made easy achievements from games that I beat but didn't bother with any kind of completion. And from this time I read achievements before playing game to know about moderately easy ones - like previously I'd just walk through whole game with my favourite weapon. And now I try to get ones that require "kill 20 enemies with shotgun" "kill with machine gun" "kill x enemies under x time".

I never bother with "end game on insanely difficulty", "collect 50k skulls" (when after one playthrough I have like 20k of them). And so on. So I'm in "Like to get them but don't do it like a maniac" category :D

Well, 60% is pretty great, congrats!
I'll just try to keep it above 50%. So I won't bother either with the really annoying/time consuming achievements.

I've always loved unlocking achievements. It's such a shame some games have annoying multiplayer grinding achievements, that usually prevent me from 100%.

Same for me. I mostly play solo, and some multiplayer achievements require to spend dozens, if not hundreds of hours playing the game. I know I won't get those achievements.^^

I'm so awesome I got all the achievements of Shan Gui and Nekopara Vol. 0 in under the 2 hours mark

It'll only get worse from there! I was in a similar situation about a year and a few months back...decided to finish up some old games, discovered sites that told me which were the fastest to complete...look at where I am at now... :P

So because I empathise, congrats :)

Impressive! I won't get that far though. I'll just try to keep it above 50%.

I always try to 100% the games I play but sometimes the achievements are just so damn stupid that I don't do it.
Like, in Final Fantasy 3 for example there's an achievement for leveling every character's job to level 99 and anyone who's played FF3 knows how long that would take, it's absolutely ridiculous! I love that game but no thank you.

I know the feeling. Some achievements are really crazy and instead of a challenge, it feels like a waste of time.

I like to go for 100% but sometimes it's frustrating because don't have the patiente needed. I remembered of PAYDAY 2. I got 100% on it, but they started to milk the game with DLC and new achievements attached to DLC and that's where my love for the game stopped.

Yeah, it's frustrating when you 100% a game and have to get back to it when achievements are added.

It's cool when the "you have unlocked <<bla bla>>" pops up, and I don't like when achievements are bugged and don't unlock, but other than that, I don't care about them and I never replay a game or part of a game to unlock an achievement.

I have 180 games completed and one of the most ridiculus Achievements I''ve ..."achieved"... was "Explorer" in mafia 2. you just have to drive 1000 miles in one of the dlc's. As the campaign only gives you around 100miles you have to grind the rest driving along the short inner city highway. But with an average speed of 50mph.... ......well... jeah... it takes some time

34 hours to complete it, more than the required time to 100% Batman Arkham Asylum, hard but wonderful game indeed. Oh, and I also broke a pen attempting to do that.

100% of Super Hexagon? That's insane, I haven't even managed to get the first achievement.

Back when I owned an Xbox 360, I played games for the sole reason of achievements. Which is a pretty bad habit in retrospective. I'm glad that Steam doesn't have something like "Gamerscore" or else the whole gaming thing would've been ruined for me once again.

But gz on your completion rate. I know that feels good.

I'm not really interested in achievements. Sometimes I'll try to hunt down one or two for fun, but it's far from my priorities.

I got 100% in "The Plan"... that's pretty simple, though.
I really enjoyed "Mark of the Ninja", because it gave you the option of completing the game with very few mandatory killings (boss fights), and so I got 100% on that game, as well as playing new game plus through with a non-violent ninja.
I've also got high completion in Dragon Age: Origins, and Saints Row 2 (neither of which are shown on steam).

I used to try to get all the achievements because I liked the challenge, but now, with little spare time and so many good games to play... I like unlocking achievements, but I don't focus on it.

I hate those achievements where you have to play for 50 hours or something, you just have to idle becauce you got bored of the game lol.
Congratulations I guess :P
