I wouldn't ask this question if there weren't over 1000 entries for every single instance of it.

I can't imagine that many people are interested in an e-book about the behind-the-scenes work.

I never considered that, and now I'm a little annoyed, since I am interested in that.

Why can't you imagine that people would want it? I'm sure that actually sold very well. Most people are interested in looking behind the scenes. Not everyone is willing to pay for it though, which is why there are lots of people who want to win it.

The second thing that's not clear is why you think that over 1000 entries is out of the ordinary for anything on this site. Pretty much every $1 DLC gets over 1000 entries, and that requires having the base game. Well, except Children of the Nile: Alexandria, where apparently nobody (except 3 people) has the base game.

If there's a giveaway, no matter what it is people will enter like mindless drones if the entry button is enabled. That's just how it goes.

True, sad but true. Maybe the site should have a "spam" filter? If you enter just about every giveaway listed you get a "cooldown" where you can't enter another for X hours unless you pull out of one of your current ones? I only enter the same ones over and over trying to win those games. Once in a while I'll jump in for a game I'm not super interested in but I'd play if I won but that's rare.

Probably a lot... Which is depressing. I enter in every one of these I see, I think it would be a very interesting read! :| I'm sure many are disappointed.. perhaps mad even. Which would be just silly of them seeing as they got it for free...

I always enter them, as I think it would be interesting to see what happens behind the scenes. Stupid people making it less likely thinking it's DLC (probably) -_-

I think that most people who enter this know what it is. That's why there are only 1000+ for this $2 book vs. 2000+ for the $1 Fortix.

I assume some of them do... or just enter everything that is under 10 points to win anything, anywhere.

I forget where I saw it, I believe it was a poll of Best PC games ever the other day, and I saw Portal and Portal 2 in 2nd and 3rd place (not sure which one was which).
Skyrim was 1st, and I remember Age of Empires 2 at #22 and L4D2 and #23.

Oyyyy. Dynamic games with multiplayer potential should dominate "Best" of PC.
Portal is amazing but I think people just have a crush on GLaDOS. They fell in love with a sarcastic, sadistic, manipulative robot woman, and who can blame them? It's a match made in heaven for gamers.

I hope atleast portal was number 2 and portal 2 was 3... the first portal was much more enjoyable IMO.

I red the damn thing immediately after finishing the game. Awesome stuff. Upped the experience for both, the game and Valve in general..

I think just because you had to look it up doesn't mean other people don't know what they're entering.

Well, the title is pretty misleading, like the final hours implies what happens in the final hours on some other area of the game, plus it's just 2 points, most of the people entering are doing so either because they think it's dlc, or they think it's too cheap to make a difference
