What do you think? Should valve do something soon?
How to csgo:
»play competitive on d2 only
»complain about russians
»play more competitive on d2
»complain about russians
»don't practice at all so you stay silver 3 two years
»write a negative review about how russians ruin the game and how the game is full of cheaters
»get out of silver
»go on competitive matchmaking
»complain about the game being too competitive
»go back to silver
»complain about russians
»always play with randoms
»never learn to play
»tell everyone about how overrated csgo is and how full of cheaters, smurfs etc. just because you can't play shit and can't understand that when you go on the COMPETITIVE mode they expect you to play on a competitive level.
Ffs, if you can't handle competitive matchmaking stay on the community servers or casual mode.

The R8 revolver died but CSGO? It won't die no matter what. Unless there's like 3 new country strikes, then it might die but not entirely. It's too mainstream and overrated to die. Now HoN on the other hand, aswell as other numerous multiplayer communities for Age of Empires 3, Red Faction Guerrilla, etc. Could potentially or will die in a matter of time saddly... But CSGO will keep its pace, no matter how tainted by hackers

it's not dying. and you can be sure, if it ever really starts dying, nobody will care because there will already be a new CS by then.

It isnt dying but it is getting less popular simply because Valve removed the abilty to bet on matches with skins.
I havent touched competitive for some weeks now. Only stick to short casual rounds from time to time.
Its because I have some other games I'd rather spent my time on. But when a new operation is launched I'm sure I'll be spending more hours again.

Clearly, there is a massive problem in MM with the number of cheaters and/or smurfers ruining the MM experience for other players. As far as cheating goes, Valve should be handing out perma-bans that are indefinite in length, but Valve also need to be more proactive in dealing with cheaters in the 1st place. By doing nothing now, Valve are letting CS:GO slowly die, atleast the community anyway, which is the player base of the game.
From what I have observed in my time playing MM (I have over 2k in-game hours over the last year or so, as well as countless hours watching pro competitions), the problem started getting worse around 6-12 months ago...there was an influx of new players, some of which simply bought cheats instead of learning the game. Due to the increase in the player base, because of the increase in the popularity of pro CS, this has led to an increase in the number of cheaters. This has become a viscious circle, with the pros constantly being accused of cheating because newcomers don't understand the mechanics of the game, therefore, using cheats in everyday MM to imitate the pros, under the assumption that it's ok, because the pros do it, in their minds atleast. Leading to more cheaters, and so on. I'm sure you can see what I'm getting at.
Seeing as Valve make an extaordinary amount of money from CS:GO, I'm a little surprised, to say the least, that they are not taking this problem more seriously as it could quite easily kill the game, and therefore, their profit. It makes sense (to me atleast) to invest in a (much) better VAC system to deal with cheaters, and dish out harsher punishments if caught cheating. Other games can manage it so I don't buy that Valve are doing everything they can!
As for smurfers, FM7F7-IG6Xthree-WZ8AY whilst these guys aren't doing anything wrong as such, I don't buy the argument that it helps make people better at the game quicker. That's just an excuse used so they can continue to do as they please. People will improve over time, if they are so inclined, regardless of whether they face smurfers or not, so all smurfers are really doing is having a negative effect on the ranking system, which should be of concern to Valve, in my opinion. If the ranking system is skewed (so that multiple account holders are top of the ranking system) then where is the space for the newcomers who are good enough? Over time I'm sure Prime will help solve this problem, but it's doing nothing right now. Pretty much every game I play has either a smurf or a hacker involved, this is clearly not good enough.
And right now I start to hate the game because of it and spending more time on games like Fallout4 and Witcher3.
Good Day....
