Welcome to the next episode in my completely irregular series, where I offer games to people who are the most likely to play them.

Today's offer is Lorelai: an indie psychological horror point and click adventure that tries to scare you not with cheap monsters or telling you that there is some Elder God you are supposed to be afraid from because we tell you so. It scares you because it portrays too bluntly real characters with real fights, going to the extreme with their actions. (Disclaimer: one puzzle has two solutions; one of them will make you be really, really, really cruel to an everyday person.)

It fits my theme by being the sequel of The Cat Lady (and Downfall). If you remember how these threads go, you also know what will come next.

I am offering a Humble gift link of Lorelai in the form of a whitelist-only giveaway. When I posted this thread, said list was empty and once the game is redeemed, it will be empty again.
To get on said list, prove to me that you played the previous two adventures by Harvester Games, the ones that act as a precursor to Lorelai. Show me your Steam achievement pages of The Cat Lady and Downfall. Show me that you have at least 40 of the combined 55 achievements, then I will temporarily put you on my whitelist.
Once you are on the whitelist, you will be able to access this giveaway:
https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/OP16Y/lorelai

As a bonus, you can bet on how many people will try to click on that link without reading a single word and come back here to complain about running into a wall.

The giveaway runs until next Monday (2019-07-15) 3 PM UTC. You can apply a few hours before that deadline. I will not be around all days, but I'll be around on that Monday, so I'll check all applicants before it ends.

I will not respond individually, I just list everyone who got in here:
heilurmes, Fet, fauren, CrypticComrade, Bladeling, Svipur, TempeteJoachim, Makta, Atalante, adam1224, FeedMeAStrayCat, Hudy, Room404, oginer, Lavito, Amitte, Szedeth, MoltenDragon, Khayta, Pczelda, jaTravka,

I love the trilogy and Lorelai was an instand buy for me. šŸŒ¹
All three games are brilliant. I'm super curios what Mr. Michalsky brings us next šŸ˜‰
And I also made 2 Lorelai and a few Cat Lady and Downfall Giveaways over the last year, cause I love them so much and I want everybody to play these masterpieces šŸŒž

Oh, this is my favorite games, especially Downfall!
Ivy and Joe's story is very close to me, so I'd be glad if you gave me a chance.

Aww, seems I didn't make the cut in terms of achievements.
Not that it's exactly a bad thing, I wasn't going to enter due to my backlog and the fact I wouldn't be playing it immediately, which would have defeated the purpose wouldn't it?

Still, being about three achievements short makes me feel like I shirked my duties as a horror loving nerd somehow. I knew not getting that achievement for pissing off the doc in Downfall would come back to haunt me someday!

Nice giveaway though, and a pretty solid way to make sure it ends up in a good home.

I really loved The Cat Lady. It's one of those stories that stays in your mind for a few days after finishing it. I got Downfall a few weeks ago and started playing it, but got derailed by something else and completely forgot to finish it. So I finally did. Not as good as the first one, but still awesome.

I'm not done with the Cat Lady, but some time ago I bought a bundle because the game was in my wishlist since forever, then later on I also bought Downfall as I knew it was the next part.
so far I'm at 16/25 on the Cat Lady and I don't know if I'll be done before the deadline, but I wanted to at least thank you for getting me to play those as I just needed a little push to pick them rather than any other game in my long list.
Thanks ā™„

This idea has been floating around since March 2017, so not like it is new or patented or anything. I had a direct copy thread once, had even people making an invite-only giveaway where we put their link into my giveaway's description.
I have dropped some unconventional means on the forum in the past years, so if someone gets some ideas from them, I won't stand in the way.

Its good to see you got your small gathering of likeminded people who enjoyed those games. According to an above comment the one you are giving away is just as amazing do here's hoping the winner enjoys it so

Lorelai has a few issues here and there (one sequence has two solutionsā€”one is evil in the word's actual real-word senseā€”and there is the issue of having a "slasher killer" style antagonist), but yes, if someone liked the Cat Lady, they will love it. On the plus side, the new protagonist is less of a straight-up serial murderer on a killing spree the last one ended up asā€¦

I had no idea that I would go through the end of "The Cat Lady" and run "Downfall" in one sitting and a half.
The Cat Lady (25/25) > https://steamcommunity.com/id/Ylthin/stats/253110/achievements/
Downfall (23/30) > https://steamcommunity.com/id/Ylthin/stats/364390/achievements/
Of course, now I want to know more about Lorelei.. And discover the other endings of Downfall.

I find that way to count the positive tendency rather creepy.. But what else to expect from this series ?

These are great games! Dark but awesome story and the ending has a high note for clinically depressed people no matter what Cat Lady ending you get, which is very nice. Hoping I get to get Lorelai sometime, I've had it in my wishlist for a while.

The Cat Lady: https://steamcommunity.com/id/pczelda2005/stats/appid/253110/achievements 24/25 (I'll be getting the best ending too soon)
Downfall: https://steamcommunity.com/id/pczelda2005/stats/appid/364390/achievements 16/30 so far.

In a bonus, I heard that the character, The Queen of Maggots, was actually called Lady Maggots in the free original version of Downfall, and was a quite different character, having little to do with what's now basically a trilogy on Steam.

You don't have to hunt for achievements in this game. If you're interested in the game and try to get the different endings, the achievements will come naturally (most optional achievements are either for getting some ending, or for doing stuff required for a certain ending).
