Hey, i always wanted to buy Arma II especially now with THAT discount, i just want to know before: Is the community still active? Is the community serious or there is a lot of trolls and cheaters? Finally, is it still a good game like everyone says?

Note: I'm aware this is a simulation game and not CoD, thats the kind of game i want :D

Thank you!

I'm just shooting in the dark here, but you might want to get 3 instead.

I'm asking because i watched some gameplay and i read reviews but i have no idea about the game community. Realistic shooter games have a trend to draw trolls like team killers and so. I want to know if thats the case of Arma 2.

Arma 2's boring to me, I can't stand playing the unmodded version. I suggest looking at gameplays.

I am a big fan of arma since operation flashpoint the first, arma 2 is excellent mainly by its environment and large real life weapon selection, which is something that arma 3 does not have. It also features excellent realistic mods, ACE and ACRE that are still being adapted to arma 3 ( or where last time i played ).

The game imho is mostly fun to play in a "unit" ( clan, whatever ), featuring ex military and playing it pro ( including limited respawn ), at this level arma 2 is still active on private servers.

However as the mods will be adapted to arma 3, you can expect a more definitive shift towards the latest iteration, and as far as playing on public servers goes, arma 3 would be a wiser choice.

Trolls are to be expected on public servers but are generally dealt with promptly if its a renowed server where an admin tends to be always present.

I prefer arma 2.
