Same for me too. But i still bought it to have it in my library. Maybe one day to try it. Thats the reason i havent played alien isolation or dead space or other very scary games.

Peaceful mode only removes enemies from the surface, you'll still need to avoid areas like caves if you want to avoid encountering enemies altogether. Moreover, it acts as the game's "Easy" mode, meaning that all survival based modifiers are set to casual parameters, as well. (Note: The game's difficulty setting cannot be changed after initial selection, at least not without modding.)
While it's likely the right mode for some, it's less "anti-horror" and more a low-difficulty playthrough in line with the mode some RPGs have where they cut out most or all of combat for the sake of allowing a story-focused playthrough.
Rather than simply exclusively relying on static difficulty selections, the game would have benefitted highly from customizable parameters, allowing one to set up a custom mode suitable to their playstyle.

Yes, I enjoyed it very much!
After the plane falls, you are stranded in a island. You must find your child and figure out the mysteries of the island. The island is quite big and you can go wherever you want.
The crafting system is great and building a base or other buildings can be very fun and rewarding. The survival part is well done.
It is also quite scary.
The bits and pieces of clues you find around the island weave a really nice story
