Hello SG :D

I am still home but hopefully bar something weird happening I will be leaving for a couple of months sometime in the first two weeks of August. So while I'm here and my parents' visit is winding down, I have some time to share some humblebundle goodies.

I've always been a point & click fan, and not just a fan of the Sam & Maxes or Gabriel Knights of days gone; I've played some really obscure and hardly ever talked about games, some have a cult following today like the "Beneath the Steel Skies" of games and others went the way of Willy Beamish and Amazon: Guardians of Eden. So my poll is about what are likely the most prolific Point & Click creators of old. Which one is your go to? Also if you're up for it comment about your favourite point & clicks, Maybe you like Monkey Island or DotT? Or maybe prefer the newer generation of games? Daedalic, Wadjet Eye, Amanita - anything you feel like talking about. I have one game that stuck with me for years after playing it, it was called the Big Red Adventure, I enjoyed it when I played it. I do not recommend anyone try to get it today though, it's a broken mess that barely worked when released, the chances of it refusing to work at all today are quite high.

I added one more GA to the list to make them an even 4:

1.Anna's Quest ==> https://www.jigidi.com/jigsaw-puzzle/AKX6WRE2/anna-s-quest (180 pieces ends Sunday 9:30pm Eastern time)

2.Silence ==> https://www.jigidi.com/jigsaw-puzzle/8FB14KQG/Silence (252 pieces ends Sunday 9:30pm Eastern time)

3.Deponia: doomsday ==> https://www.jigidi.com/jigsaw-puzzle/ZMI91UYM/deponia-doomsday (220 pieces ends Sunday 9:30pm Eastern time)

4.Deponia: Complete Journey ==> https://www.jigidi.com/jigsaw-puzzle/RI6RFM90/the-complete-journey (299 pieces ends Monday 9:30pm Eastern time)

5.Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun ==> https://www.jigidi.com/solve.php?id=UIPLDF01 (lvl 2+ 170 ends Tuesday 9:30pm)

p.s. I've tried my best not to give any game spoilers with my choice of images, if I've given anything away let me know please, and I'll correct it.
Also let me know how you feel about my changing the way I link to jigidi

hardly a king lol
I think there's a lot of people who have created more puzzles both in quantity and variety
and my foray into more creative puzzles usually resulted in them being too difficult D:

Hmm The Cat Lady maybe? Is Cat Lady even point-n-click? It feels like one, but you move by using arrows, so i'm not sure.
From more recent plays Odysseus Kosmos was surprisingly nice.

I think the Cat lady is definitely an adventure game, which is what I used to call point & clicks before people came up with the label "point & click", quite a few adventure games in the past had you moving with a keyboard and using the mouse for interaction. It was common in Sierra games, and was the best way to control your protagonist in Amazon: Guardians of Eden that I've mentioned above. I have not yet played Odysseus K, are you talking about the episodic one where ep.1 is free? I'll give it a spin

also if you like horror or suspense themes in adventure games, I recommend Fran Bow, that was a quirky and memorable little game. If you like them even darker then there's "I have no mouth and I must scream" and "sanitarium"

I have that full version of Odysseus Kosmos. To be honest I wasn't very found of it at the beginning, but longer I played - more I liked it. End of chapter 2 was hilarious and I think they released chapter 3 now (I dare to have hopes they keept that rising tendency).

Other thing is I'm huge sucker for pixel graphic (I mean nice pixel grapic not "fuck graphic budged, we'll say it's indie"). So OK gets from me huge + only for that.

I loved Sanitarium :D and "I have no mouth" is waiting in my lib for time I'll have brain to finish it. I really like "smaller" horrors, so I will check up Fran Bow for sure. ^ ^

I think my first ever horror games were Alone in the Dark followed by Phantasmagoria, even though there were plenty of other horror games that came before phantasmagoria, I just wasn't into them at the time. Phantasmagoria 2 got too weird for me though, so I never finished that game, I don't remember what it was for me at the time, but something was just too weird lol I'd probably laugh at it now if I tried to play again

Fran Bow is not on the same horror level as I have no mouth or Sanitarium, but it makes up for it with aesthetic

Well, Wadjet Eye made Primordia and Shardlight, which were both games that made me give point 'n' clicks another chance. Usually I kinda steer away from 'em.

I'm terrible and immediately like a game 25% less if you can't spam jump :P

Primordia is one of my fav steam sale purchases. I love games like that one. I don't own shardlight unfortunately ): maybe next sale
I've always liked adventure games like those, and I think the first I've played was Beneath a Steel Sky, it's definitely dated at this point and has a few odd quirks stemming from budget issues and development changes. Still - it got me into the darker point & clicks

I also throw Lisa into that pile of games, it's different but kinda fits :p

EDIT: I could be wrong, do you think we can put these games in the same category as Another World or Flashback? I mean sure those had more action and no pointing or clicking, but maybe they sort of have things in common? if so then I played those before Beneath a Steel Sky

Damn, you seem to have a history with these games. It's a shame I didn't really play point 'n' clicks when I was younger. Way too impatient for them.

I sorta get what you mean with Another World, I think? It's weirdly vague and panoramic like a lot of adventure games, with some pretty sets, even if it does have more action. Maybe that's just me, though :S

STRAFE-JUMPING BOIS! But yeah, otherwise, things like Dragon Age: Origins kill me inside every time ;-;

I always remember the adventure that made me start playing other games of the same genre.
Runaway: A Road Adventure by Pendulo Studios.
Nowadays i'm mostly a Daedalic guy with Deponia titles being my favorite adventures.

Runaway huh? I've noticed it on my feed a few times, not a game I own though

I think Daedalic did a good job with Deponia and Harvey

EDIT: I just realized I forgot to mention Edna there, sorry Edna, Harvey was more memorable

It's kinda old-school but if you are into the genre i would definitely recommend it.
Edit: I have Edna & Harvey titles in my library but haven't tried em yet. I'm sure they are worth playing since i haven't played anything from Daedalic that i didn't like yet. ^^

Miss you already buddy
I have all the games but I'll do the Jigis 'cause... Jigiiiiiiiiis!!!!

I like adventure games, especially funny ones, they help me focus on other things when my mind get all over the place. Plus my lady loves them.

Day of the Tentacle and The Curse of Monkey Island are still my faves but there are lots of good ones I've really loved like The Wolf Among Us (here's one that's not funny in the least but the darkness is a good change of pace) and the Deponia games.

Enjoy your time off and stay excellent

Day of the Tentacle was a happy childhood memory, but I never got to play Curse of Monkey Island till much later. Back then between myself and my friends we'd each have a game or two and sort of trade them back and forth, and my turn with Monkey Island never came D:

I'm pretty picky about my point & click adventures... but the ones I love, I love them fiercely.

My all-time favorite is still LOOM. That game made me feel things; I couldn't point to one aspect as to why. Was it the novel mechanic? Or was it the breezy sort of take on fantasy and humor? Maybe it was the music. Maybe it was just magic, actual magic.

Even if for pure nostalgia, my favourite point and click adventure game is Ace Ventura. I absolutely love it. Not sure if any digital stores actually carry it, but if you can get your hands on a copy, it's probably worth it just for the pure silliness. Of course, if you like the Ace Ventura movies, you will enjoy it a lot. I hope. <3

My favourites are The Longest Journey, Machinarium, Full Throttle and especially Syberia, but I still not played many more great representatives of the genre, so can't express my opinion about them.
Almost didn't play p&c games of recent years, but Daedalic and Wadjet Eye games looks very good. Played demo Gemini Rue and Kathy Rain (I was intrigued by the comparison with Blade Runner and Twin Peaks respectively) and liked them.
At the present time I play The Black Mirror. There are some drawbacks, and English voice-over far from ideal, but this can be justified by budget constraints. So far only in the first act, and the beginning is intriguing.

I really enjoyed syberia and Machinarium, I haven't played longest journey or full throttle yet o:
I'll have to try them out in the future

Kathy Rain was great, I don't think I played Gemini Rue

If you enjoyed Syberia, The Longest Journey definitely worth a try, a great story (although I didn't play the last part of it, Dreamfall Chapters, as well as Syberia 3).
And best of luck to you in your journey in August!
