Are there any means to report this or should I just let it be?

Has it been 7 days?

Be patient. The giveaway creator has up to 7 days to add the key. He also has to hit the "send key" button for the key to actually be visible for you.
If it has been 7 days, you can start taking actions.

Depends how long,it has been since it finished, maybe the gifter has not added it or press sent yet.

I see, thanks for the explanation. It's just that in every giveaway I've won before there always was a key right away.

I have a question for you though, it seems like you won Zeno Clash about 2 months ago, and you marked this as received. But I do not see this in your profile? How come? Any reason?

I had some troubles with Steam support and how they handle regional restrictions. Zeno Clash was from US Alienware Promo (not my region) as I found out after activation. So I removed it from my account right away to avoid any possible trouble.

In that case you might consider contacting the giveaway creator of that giveaway and asking if he can possibly contact steamgifts support to delete the giveaway. Having a non-activated game can be a reason for you to get a (temporary) ban on steamgifts since it is against the rules. It also shows in sgtools and will make you unable to pass quite a lot of sgtools checks.

He had claimed the game and removed the game from his account, so the game is gone. Can't ask for a reroll if he already claimed it? The key is used.

since OP activated the key already not much to reroll - key is used already.

Well technically it's activated - nobody can use that key anymore. Anyway I've contacted giveaway creator right away and it seemed he didn't care at all. And now I see the idiot even blacklisted me. So whatever. Thanks for the advice.

The Alienware key is NOT regionlocked key: https://steamdb.info/sub/30649/
So Ga creator gave you a working key. And you deleted it. It makes one of you an idiot, sure, but clearly not GA Creator :D:

doesn't matter - as long as the game is not removed from GA list (and Zeno Clash was not, as well as quite a few AlienWare GAs because of them not being a massive GAs) you can make GAs for it. Also it's not said that GA Creator got the key from said GA, he may have as well traded for it, got from other website, like tremor or other GA site allowing regifting and so on and on. Game was allowed to be given on SG, GA Creator provided a working ROW key, OP activated the key, then decided on his own to delete the game and now has pretensions to GA Creator.

Comment has been collapsed.

no need to contact GA Creator - keys from AlienWare promo are normal ROW keys and can be activated and played anywahere in the world (https://steamdb.info/sub/30649/). GA creator provided a working key, OP qactivated it and then deleted game later on - there is no reason why GA Creator shoud be punished (deleted GA and lost CV or having to purchase another key) for OPs stupidity.

Well, if the GA would be deleted, he/she would lose CV, and you would get away with breaking the rules. That's actually a punishment.

all comments here are children comments to comment https://www.steamgifts.com/go/comment/C5Mtu83 which clearly indicates the discussion below parent comment involves Zeno Clash GA :>

no, I'm not stupid, I'm not the one deleting won games from my Steam account then "contacting GA Creator right away" demanding new key xD

And read the comments in comment tree - people talking about GA deletion or demanding new key - both of which would be obviously punishing legit GA Creator :>

I'm not saying you did, I commented on whole discussion. Maybe you stop embarassing yourself and understand that when talking in discussion with multiple people one may reffer to multiple things mentioned in said discussion ;)

Also you said you contacted GA creator right away and complain how he did not care about your problem (which he should not, he did everything right). Ohh and went even to call him an idiot :>

"then decided on his own to delete the game and now has pretensions to GA Creator."

Yeah, you sure didn't. Grow up already and control your wild imagination.

I contacted Zeno Clash GA creator not to demand another key, but only to tell him that he should have mentioned that is was US Promo key. It's important, because I could not enter that Alienware giveaway from my region. So when Steam suppport sees that I've activated a key marked as "US promo" nobody can tell if they will count that as violation or not. And it's up to them to decide it, but not you or GA creator. So when I've tried to explain that to GA creator he didn't care. Now I see that he even blacklisted me for no reason. So yes, now I have every reason to call him an idiot. Well deserved.

SMH..
you are not gonna get in trouble for activating US keys.

Unless you use VPN or similar methods to do it.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Tell that to Steam support. My account was locked for a year for activating gifts from my region because they thought it was from another region. It took them almost a year just to check that. I don't want to risk in any way.

it does not mastter. If you win something you are required not only to activate it but also to keep it in your library. You did not, which is against the rules. The key you got was a legit one, it's noones fault but yours you decided to delete it.

Or they might be sending the gift to your email address directly via Steam (so make sure your email address on your Steam Gifts account is correct!).

If I'm giving away a key, I usually add the key after the GA has ended so I can check the winner first. Be patient.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

FYI, you can also add the keys when creating the GA, because you have to manually send them to the winner after GA ended anyway (unless it is a 50+ copy GA).

There is also another possibility. The GA creator checked your profile and seen you had non-activated gifts, so he reported you and asked for a reroll, you get no free key but a free suspension :P

Permalink

I don't have non-activated gifts. :P

but it shows as such, see here. that's why people will ask for rerolls and why you will fail to enter quite a lot of GAs created with sgtools.

Then it's sgtools problem, not mine. :) Anyway, there are a lot of giveaways to enter left.
