Sales right before the summer sale are usually highly profitable. I got a Magicka complete pack for about 6 euros back in the '11 winter sale, and the You Monster DLC for Defense Grid for slightly more than 1 euro last year's summer sale. None of these two went any lower once the sales started. I think it depends on when the actual sale starts.

I doubt it'll go below 5 bucks on steam unless the base price drops, just make sure to get the GOTY version as it's the exact same price.

I got the game free a while back from Raptr, and ended up clocking about 50 hours into the game, loving every minute of it.

Its ok, would not pay over 5 for it.

If you feel like it's worth waiting until whenever the summer sale starts just to save maybe another $1.00 or $1.50, go for it. Personally, I think the game is worth every penny of the $5.00 you can get it for now.

I recommend that you read the Steam forums and after doing so decide if you really want to deal with all of the bugs and glitches. Some people are frustrated easier than others but once I figured out the quirks I really had no issues playing it. I like the game but it seems to be one of those love or hate type of games and the lovers are in the minority group. I don't think that it will ever be cheaper and be sure that you are getting the GOTY version as someone else already mentioned. Don't expect much online play unless you have friends who own the game too. There's plenty to do in single-player to keep you busy for a while.

I'm a fan of zombie games. Dead Island is a really great concept. It's actually okay for the 5 bucks it is now. BUT I hope you're not the type who gets pissed off too easily. It has weird controls, lots of bugs, takes a lot of getting used to. It just doesnt sit right with me.

Maybe for Riptide you should wait , it might be 75% or 50% again , so you won't lose anything ( Because I think/hope it will be again in summer sale )

Most games don't go cheaper than 75%, especially when they're only as old as Dead Island is. I'd get it now.

5€ for a good game is a great price. It won't be cheaper than now

And that $1 is not really worth waiting for sale+voucher on GMG. IF it even get down to $5 there.
