Question about Dark Souls

So, i just got Dark Souls, however it isnt about me, my friend from Argentina wants to play co-op with me, he told me that the game isnt avilable in his region, if i gift him Darks Souls can he play? or is he going to get his game locked?

Is GFWL not available there? Dark Souls' multiplayer is entirely reliant on GFWL.

They did a Facebook announcement and immediately deleted it, but yeah I think they will do it.

It uses Games for Windows Live. If that works there, he should be fine. If it doesn't, he is out of luck. He / you should Google first to be sure.

Yep he can, I own it and im from Argentina too.

No problems with online nor anything

Dark souls being locked here was just because we got GFWL support latter and it wasnt retroactive to already released games.

Dark Souls isn't region locked, but steam is what it is and some regions don't have some stuff in their stores. As long as GFWL is supported in his country, he can play it if you gift it to him.

Just don't use VPN. Try steamtrades, somebody should have keys from previous Amazon sale lying around.

I am from Argentina and i own DarkSouls. I traded a copy with someone here on SG on the Summer sale. I beat the game and used the online features without any issues, although i already had a GFWL account. Still i don`t think there will be any problem.
