Do you remember what your first anime you ever watched was?
I think, if I remember from my childhood, mine was either Battle of the Planets since it was on tv as I was a kid or the US dubbed Star Blazers. I know, I'm showing my age there, but who knew it was anime when you were a child?

Mine was either this, Ninja Scroll, or Vampire Hunter D. I'm leaning toward Akira then the others.

It was either Pokemon or Shaman King. Actually thinking back it might be Kirby or Ojamajo Doremi. Or maybe it was Tomatoman... I really can't remember.

And still more iconic than all the rest that followed.

Sailor Moon. I didn't realize it wasn't originally American at the time, and kept wondering why these obviously lily-white characters kept talking about "Crystal Tokyo."

Cowboy Bebop and Ninja Scroll.

Saw a friend watching Cowboy Bebop, asked him what it was. Said I'd never heard of anime before. So he directed me to watch Ninja Scroll. I liked it, and watched Cowboy Bebop next.

Angel Beats! if I remember correctly. I had just finished RWBY (not sure if season 1 or 2) and it was mentioned on a forum when I searched for recommendations or stuff to watch similar to RWBY. And no, it wasn't similar. At all. Not sure why someone suggested it.

Not sure. Earliest I can think of is probably "Project A-KO: Grey Side/Blue Side" on the sci-fi channel. I also saw "Demon City Shinjuku" and "Slayers Next" sometime around then. Ended up getting really into it and watched "Birdy the Mighty", "Tenchi Muyo", "Serial Experiments Lain", and various others on VHS after that.

Probably Grendizer or Captain Harlock, although they were called Goldorak and Albator in my country.

Battle of the Planets, followed by Star Blazers and Tao Tao. I had no idea they were anime at the time. Out of all those cartoons I watched when I was a kid, I only knew Candy Candy was an anime, though I didn't know the word anime back then.

I remember way back when the SciFi channel had a day-long (or was it week-long) anime schedule, back before anime was more well-known here. The only thing I remember is that they played E.Y.E.S. of Mars as part of it.

Edit: Though now that I think about it, Superbook and Flying House were both anime. I probably saw those first.

One of from Mrs. Pepper Pot, The Wonderful Adventures of Nils, or Around the World with Willy Fog. It was over 30 years ago though.

My father recorded this on a VHS for me because he thought I would like it. I absolutely loved it :D

I never realize it was Japanese until recently when I had a talk similar to this topic with my girlfriend however, I would not really call it an anime.
