Probably close to end of July , but we'll see.

My guess is that they'd like to add trading cards to as many games as possible and maybe even get that out of beta before the sale begins. Doing so would really boost the sales of those titles and get the whole trading card system off to a huge start.

It's my first Summer Sale also and from what I've seen on here I'm pretty hyped up for it :).

• See that midweek madness deal? Check when it ends. Does it end the moment a weekend deal would usually pop on? -> Congratulations! The summer sale starts this thursday! Does it end 6 hours after the weekend deal is introduced? -> Better luck next week!

This was ALWAYS the case with all sales I took part in, if they didn't change anything this year it will be the same (I took part in every sale, always been like that).

This will be my first Summer Sale also. How much money do you guys usually set aside to spend during the sale? I was thinking of saving around 100 dollars or so to spend. So how many good games would I be able to get with that much money?

This weekend deal ends at 12 pm instead of 6 pm....so sales are close...maybe not tomorrow,maybe next week,but are you planning to buy some games from steam summer sales?

Last year it was the end of July. The year before that it was the end of June. In typical Valve fashion, there's no set timeframe.

All you need to know is to only buy daily deals, flash deals, and community vote deals until the very last day of the sale. Then and only then should you buy any other game you had been wanting that didn't happen to be a daily/flash/community deal. The reason for that is that the daily/flash/community discount will always be the greatest discount available during the sale, but most of the Steam catalog will have some smaller discount during the whole thing. If a game has a normal sale discount of 75% off or greater, then it most likely will not become a daily/flash/community deal, but you still might as well wait.

Gah I hope I'm able to get the two things I want from the Summer Sale. I might be able to even if it starts tomorrow. I hope the Summer Sale is accessible to everyone, because I know that some people will probably be gone when it starts :/

I love every day when that front page updates. You never know what you'll find. This is my third summer sale, and my body is ready, but my wallet is not.
