Resident Evil 2 ReMake.
Oh, and System Shock Remastered.
And maybe Full Throttle Remastered.
Mass Effect 4 could be a good candidate as well, assuming they don't fuck it up and turn it into a full-blown TPS. (Although ME2/3 were full-blown generic TPS games as well…)
Oh, and Torment. Officially it'll be released in 2017.

They're making that Mechwarrior game with what looks like a similar combat system. I like harebrained schemes games I think it will turn out as well as their shadowrun series, especially since every game they put out it seems like they learn from the experience and their games have been progressively better from a technical standpoint.

I'm too old to bother when which game might release. And even more so to wonder which game might be the best. ;)
I'm just thankful for any good game that satisfies my RPG / strategy needs.

I read the book years ago, but thought the miniseries was decent despite some glaring changes. I cannot say the same for the sequel, World Without End, just reading about the huge changes pissed me off.

TL;DR the book is always better. You should read it someday.

I'm hoping that Prey and Mass Effect: Andromeda are good.

Also, looking forward to Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands but after the way Tom Clancy The Division went I don't hope for much.

Don't hold your breath on Watch Dogs 2. After the debacle on the first, where they screwed the pooch and made an unplayable mess, the second might not be much better.

or it could end up just like killzone 2.

The great thing about making mistake is that you learn from it, so I hope watch dog devs learned from their mistakes.

It's UbiSoft. I honestly cannot recall a single mistake they made where they learnt from it.

One of the reasons that I never wanted to support them. I got the first Watchdogs for free with my video card. First Ubisoft game I had in years.

They have published wonderful games and great series for a long while now, but their attitude towards the consumers has been terrible way before the internet made a thing about it.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I would say they have some exceptions, mainly little indie-like games, for example Valiant hearts, Child of Light or Grow Home.

They had those for a while as well. The problem was, for example in the early 2000s, that they used Tagés. It was a wonderful piece of software that prevented many legal buyers to ever start up their game, resulting in people either pirating it anyway or refunding it (then pirating it anyway).
I wouldn't be surprised f that would have been one of the reasons—apart from the terrible launch date—that Beyond Good and Evil didn't sell that well and we are still waiting for the second game to release.

Oh dear lord, Tages. That's one thing I had hoped to NEVER hear about again. That and it's bastard cousin, Securom.

Actually, no. Since they own the license to one of my all time favorite franchises, and I was on a kick getting them all back off GoG, I HAD to buy Might and Magic X deluxe edition on a steam sale a year or so ago. I now own ALL the REAL Might and Magic games. Not those crappy spinoff RTS games in the Heroes series.

Permalink

those games should really have been King's Bounty games. They just slapped the might and magic title on it.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Well, seeing as Jon Van Caneghem DID create both franchises, Might and Magic/Heroes of Might and Magic AND Kings Bounty, I can't see that working too well.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I'm aware of that. I mean that the heroes series was an evolution of Kings Bounty and had nothing to do with the might and magic RPG series. But that was a famous series so rather than create a franchise for kings bounty they rebranded it heroes of might and magic
that being said, those were some damn fine games

AssCreed 1 vs AssCreed 2 is usually shown as example to Ubi learning and making better games.

Well, comparing it to some other series they published/made, it could be natural evolution as well. But true.
