No, sending keys is perfectly fine. IMO it's better if you send a gift link since you can check if the gift link was redeemed afterwards, but that's just down to personal preference.

I don't have much experience with Humble gift links but I tried them out yesterday and was wondering: Is it normal that the gift link redirects you to the Store page after it has been used? I seem to remember that it used to say this link has already been claimed or something like that.

Yes, old gift links will still show you the used message but new ones redirect to the store

Thanks :D I think I will use them more often now. I used to reveal all my keys but I can't keep up with my key list and it's easier to keep track what is already used that way.

Even if the gift link was redeemed it doesn't mean the key from it was used.

Maybe not but its better proof that the game was sent if the user doesnt mark as received.

You can do either of the two. I personally prefer getting keys because I'm lazy and dealing with gift links is a bother.
