Embedding Images Help

Sorry I'm still a bit of a noobie, but I was wondering how I could embed an image or a gif without having to include a text to explain it. In this it only shows how to embed a picture with a text link.

The example they give in the discussion is:

My problem is I don't want it to say cat. I want people to see my image without having to click the word cat.
