Tropico 5 Launches Tomorrow ! any hype ?

I did preorder it, after I got the chance to take a look into the Beta. I am pretty sure I will start playing tomorrow, but I prefer to play alone on my own first.

Cause what I learned from preorder is, get a minimal discount on a price that falls to the half soon to beta-test a game....:-)
And i bet the first DLCs are already final, first bundle with dlcs around july.

Not having money to spend is a good way to counter hype. See you in a couple years when I hope I'll have some disposable income and the game is down to 7.50$.

After all my complaints from the last one, I think I'm gonna just pass. Tropico 4 was good for what I paid for, but being none of the DLC seems to be compatible with the game and I, the "leader" cannot seem to keep control over my island. If people have been arrested once, you can never issue an edict on them again. If the person leaves prison and the game randomly decides that tropican is going to be a criminal again, guess what? I could rant for hours on things that I feel must exist because of some rushed effort, but it isn't worth it.

Yup.. pretty psyched! Too bad it isn't released at midnight.. Will probably jump straight into MP for fun.. Hopefully I can find some decent people to work with together co-operatively :)

Although.. I think they said military gameplay has been improved and I think there are tanks in-game :P

As someone who has only played Tropico 1 many years ago as a kid, and never touched any of the other games, i have mixed feelings.

As a kid, I never truly understood it, because it required a lot of management, thinking, planning, etc. I got discouraged by it, so I never played it again. Now, I've bee watching Let's Play videos of it, and it seems really fun, but a lot of people are complaining about Tropico 5, due to lack of cosmetics and such. For example, Tropico 4 had 15~16 costumes for your char. whereas Tropico 5 has 4 or 5. While not a huge deal, it does show Tropico 5 is going to be more DLC-crazy than its predecessor, which worries me.

That having been said, I am still kinda hyped for it and want to get back into the Tropico series.

Yes. But still playing tropico 4, will wait for the price drop. The game is worth it, probably the best city builder at the moment.

I'm very hyped so to speak. I'll probably end up playing for 32 hours straight once I get my hands on it.

Got it from a Russian 4-pack deal, right before they added regional restrictions, at about 1/4th of its Euro price so I'm happy.
No way I would've bought it for the 40/45€ it is now.

Will have to pass on multiplayer escapades, this is a strictly singleplayer game for me.

I played a bit of 4 but the silly AI, long build times and zero sense to some of what happens made me stop after the second scenario.

Just to name one major problem, free empty apartments right next to your shacks but hey, lets not move in because its not the highest tier of housing that can be built in the game. Picky bastards.

Also I was always out of money.

what i have seen of it i relly like all the inprovment in tropico 5....there are some lets plays on youtube

Might consider it once it's in a bundle later on, like the rest of the series. I've gotten all 4 of the currently available games from a couple of BundleStars bundles. I'm sure 5 will be there eventually.

I'm going to wait until it goes on sale for about 75%, like with most of the games I own. I'd really like to play it though, but I'm too cheap to pay that much on it

I would get it if I could find a clear answer as to whether or not Tropico 5 ROW would work in North America or not. :s And yeah, I checked SteamDB. Can't find an answer anywhere.

5.5 GBP of Playfire rewards, almost covering cost of game :)
