this is a complete the set type of bundle so even if you own parts of it , do check it out , it might be cheaper to get the game from this bundle rather than outright buying it straight from the games store page.
I owned BF4 and BF1 , bought the bundle and ended up paying less than 4.99 for BFV

The game is infested with cheaters, so I'd wait for the next game and hope they didn't forget implementing some kind of anticheat...

Possibly, or try Apex or Warzone, although if you have issues running BF, I doubt Warzone will work for you.

You don't have 2gb vram? If you don't, then you should consider making an upgrade... 2GB is not even what i would consider minimum these days. 4GB is, with games already pushing towards 6gb at 720p-1080p.

As for the game itself, SP is "meh", episode structure for a campaign, basically story goes all over the place, showcasing multiple scenarios around the world during the time. Game looks beautifull though, but yeah, you need some reasonable specs to be able to see that...

MP, i played it on console, it was okay, not sure about PC though. But i would say you have high odds of facing cheaters online on pc.

Ouch. Should still build something new or invest in a new laptop if you fancy continuing that approach.

Prices aren't that good anymore, but buying premades is still accessible. Used market is also something to explore, somewhat risky obviously but if you are carefull you can get really good deals. I've seen alot of old builds around my area with good enough PCs to play games for the current gen going from 400 bucks to 700 bucks. Mostly around low to mid performance (with the GPU usually being the weakest link).

EDIT: I've also used a laptop for gaming untill 2012. It was outdated, it had a semi good GPU for when i got it but it was 512mb only. In 2012, 1 to 2GB was the amount to go after. I built my first pc in 2012, still using it today for the most part, changed case and GPU and recently power supply because old one was faulty. PC still works for gaming, not fast, but still faster than last gen consoles.

well if you can't afford a new system try Nvidia Geforce NOW if you have access to internet with good speed and high traffic
they have a free subscription available too which limits the sessions to 1 hour and occasionally has queues but still it is better than nothing, I have the same problem and use it from time to time

yeah, i tried mafia 3 on it, pretty good, but the waiting time sucks, not sure if i should subscribe (i have enough games that i can run tho)

Are the games worth for their single player campaigns?

For that price? In my opinion, yes. But be aware they are very short.
Man, I miss those old games where SP campaign was at least 12 hours long. I recently reinstalled and played again Medal of Honor: Allied Assault + both expansions. I would love to see that game, and many like it, in a modern remaster.

To be fair, Battlefield doesn't have a history of amazing singleplayer, so I wouldn't be too harsh on it specifically. I played some of the old games and the campaigns are essentially conquest with AI (which is kind of fun too be honest). I think 2042 is also similar this time. The games that did have campaigns had short ones.

Agreed that it would be cool to see a modern interpretation of a pure singleplayer FPS game in a military setting. We've seen this with more doom style FPS games, but can't really think of of a more grounded military FPS example. The couple of times I do see military fps games on Steam they always seem to be multiplayer games.

I haven't played older BF games, but I remember BF3 campaign being quite longer than the BF4 one (which only has 7 missions iirc).
BF1 mini campaigns were actually very nice, but although some were long enough, some felt too short, given the nice setting. I'm talking about the Alpini campaign, with 2 scenarios only (first one being my favourite in the game), and Lawrence of Arabia campaign with 3 missions, but the first one can be so short it doesn't even feel like a mission.
I'm looking forward to playing BF5 campaigns, but first I'll need a real internet connection to download it.

Call of Duty games offer much more SP content. Past games I enjoeyd most were Call of Duty 2 (love WW2 setting), World at War (most crude effects I've seen in a WW2 game, heads actually exploding, dismembered limbs, burnt bodies and so on... that game could use a remaster for sure) and the first Black Ops. I loved the story in Black Ops.
But man, those CoD games cost so much even after so many years!

Among recent games, besides Sniper Elite, wich are actually 3rd person games but nice nonetheless, I also played Enemy Front, which offered some good WW2 content.

Yep, remember when FPSs were single-player campaigns, and the multiplayer was an extra? Nowadays many FPS games have no campaign at all.

On sale, because it's filled with hackers.

Doubt that is the reason it is on sale. Some of the games EA has, drops value real fast and often goes on sale for 5 bucks or so, they even make 2 or 3 game bundles with all dlc for 10-15 bucks at times. This has been an ongoing thing on console, steam lacked those because EA was away for a while. This is how i buy EA games, or used to. Wait for 10 bucks deals or less, preferably bundles. I stopped doing that when i noticed the 25 bucks yearly subscription for EA play. All games with 6+ months get added to the vault, 25€ for 1 year is plenty time to play these games and throw them away. None of the EA games is worth playing long term.

I would say it's because they have all been given away by Amazon Prime in recent months

It's in a deep sale because it's ending it's main life cycle. Battlefield 2042 is coming out next month and most Battlefield players will be purchasing that and moving on from Battlefield V. This type of thing has been quite normal for a very long time with FPS franchises when it comes to sales and new games of the franchise being released.

While it does have it's share of hackers, like most FPS games, it still has managed to pull "Mostly Positive" reviews in the last 30 days from almost 12k reviews.

Alas, all were given away for free / amazon prime already. And most of the dlc are for multiplayer

I don't see why unless you just want Steam tracking your hours, it still launches Origin to play.

Maybe if you do not have all the dlcs on origin or want to make another origin account to have an extra copy , i played bfv only from ea play and got it later for free from amazon , after i played the steam version on the free weekend to be able to write a review my standard version got the definitive upgrade for free wich was 3000 boins before. It`s nice it syncs your stats from the origin version of the game but you still need the origin client.

I haven't played battlefield since the first one (I don't mean Battlefield 1, I mean Battlefield 1942).
And I don't play multiplayer.
So I don't really know what to expect...

Is there a single player campaign in these games?
What's the difference between 1, 4 ,5? The time period?
Are all of them good? (I saw 5 had much worse reviews than 1 and 4)

About the Battlefield bundle, I was wondering if these games have an offline mode against bots.

There is no offline mode versus bots, according to those Steam's discussions:
https://steamcommunity.com/app/1238860/discussions/0/2976275080123747071/
https://steamcommunity.com/app/1238810/discussions/0/3061869473053444007/
https://steamcommunity.com/app/1238840/discussions/0/3061869473058705899/

Those games seems infested by cheaters.
I don't see the point in buying games infested by cheaters. I need an offline mode or a giveaway on those games to try them.
Beside, what happen when EA will close the servers ? You will be screwed, with only those 5 hours solo campaigns (it's an estimation, never played any of those games).
