There is no legal way to play games from your Steam library on your Nintendo Switch.
A few explanations would be: he has a first gen Switch and hacked it to install android, she may have meant a Steam Deck instead of a Switch, or yes, he could have bought another copy.

Sounds like you'd better inform the stupid parents before they lose more money.

He says he prefers it on Switch.
One problem is that he didn't know to use the mouse to turn the perspective.
Another aspect is that he already knows how to get a Switch game onto the livingroom television.
And finally, he says on Switch the game is multiplayer, as if the Steam version isn't.
I know on Steam it does local co-op and remote play together, but I'll have to figure those out for myself before I can properly explain them to him.

In time, maybe get him a steam deck so he can transition to it. It's going to be worth the money in the long run easily, especially since you get to dodge nintendo, whose game prices are looked down upon more than even activision/capcom games on pc, so you know it's bad.

I made a Steam account for my nephew and activated a key for Lego Harry Potter Years 1-4 on it. Last weekend, he told me he's enjoying it very much. My wife told me this morning that he's been playing the game on his Switch.
Is there a Steam-to-Switch license carry-over? Would he have to have bought it anew, or pirated it somehow?
I have the next Potter Steam game key reserved for him for after he's read the series further, and I'd like to understand the situation better. However, I don't want to put him on the spot about how he got it onto his Switch if he did anything sideways to accomplish that.
Can any Switch owners here shed any light on this?
