As the title says I would gladly know the saddest and most depressing games you have played as I am in search of such games right now and clearly need some recommendations, because I just can't think of anything decent.

The thing is, lately, whenever I come home from work and see the abnormally huge amounts I have to study for my exams, I just want to sit in a corner, hug myself and silently weep. So I thought to myself "Hey, why not make better use of that time sitting in a dark corner and move on to my desk and play some sad/depressing games".
I was thinking on what to play, couldn't think of anything decent, so now I'm here, hoping you guys will understand and help me procrastinate further.

All I want is for some game to leave an impact on me. I really need that right now, so please help?

The Third Birthday.

Don't get me wrong, game mechanic is great, story up until certain point is ok, graphic is amazing for PSP, OSTs are brilliant as expected.

The ending, though, makes me want to kill random kittens. Heck, if I ever meet whoever wrote the story, I'm DAMN FUCKING SURE I'LL SHOUT IN HIS FACE. NOBODY KILLS AYA LIKE THAT FUCK IT!

Persona 4. When the end credit rolls, I just sat there and realize that my life probably won't be as exciting as the game because I hate people.

again I have to say it..

I HAVE NO MOUTH BUT I MUST SCREAM. Former abandonware, now available on Steam. If you're in Germany though, I don't think you can beat the game..

This is a dark game!!! This is the only game I think I've played that was actually kind of horror/messed up. Everything else is just kinda not so hardcore.

Haven't played the game, but the short story was really fucked up. It was disguisting and depressing at the same time.

Spec Ops: The line. After some moments (White P. anyone?) I had to put my controller down and walk around in helpless anger and despair... The game really does a good job of f**ing with you mind, and forces you to ask yourself important questions...

Try it, I'm sure you will experience a wide range of grim emotions ;)

Analogue: A Hate Story. Borderline hard to get through at parts, and will certainly leave an impact. Although, if your study also requires a lot of reading, you may prefer something like Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons.

There's a game called "That Dragon, Cancer" made by a guy whose 3 year old kid is diagnosed with terminal cancer. And the game apparently tells the same story. That's the saddest s$#t i heard in a LONG time. Looks like its only available for that OUYA console, but I'm not sure.

Anyway, just by browsing their development blog depressed the s%$t out of me (being father of 4 helps a lot).

Why would you play sad games when you feel sad? I guess one should go outside and try to experience the nature to start feeling better instead. But oh well, I'm trying to tell a hardcore gamer to go out and have fun in the woods, pardon me.

Then you should go for "pathologic" if you want to feel miserable.
