I agree. The forum is flooded with Russia/Ukraine threads and I just feel like they're only bringing the mood down on the site. I do get that it's the most important event in recent times and what is happening is truly awful, but do we really need 15 controversial threads for it? I think the Ukraine Awareness Thread works well enough for news like this while it could also work as an outlet for people who feel they need to talk about Ukraine.
I hope we're getting some official words from SG/mods about this soon.

edit : Or well Kappaking is right, 2 pins to avoid friction ? 1 for Ukraine war problems 1 for Russia censorship and blocking issues ?

Sony, Nintendo halting supplies to Russia

Sony, Nintendo halt gaming shipments to Russia | Reuters

The story itself is true and I am aware of its existence.
However, I am through with it because it is not a topic that proliferates the "topic" of "discussion".
There seems to be a list on the Internet of what these Russian youth have lost of "everything" they enjoyed, but honestly, it is just a sorry story.
Information on ”evacuation and support for Ukrainians" and "information related to internet censorship of Russians," only these currently urgent items seem to be acceptable.
As others have argued, there may be talk of "consolidating them into one topic".
Perhaps the differences in perception among "contributors" could cause roughness.
It would be safe to add a Russia and Ukraine special to the Subscribed category.
Those who really don't like the current inevitable "war stories" can choose Unsubscribed.
There is talk of censorship of the Internet in Russia starting today, and while it is preferable to maintain the status quo for a week or so, after that it would probably be preferable for the majority of users to have such control.
Will it be determined by the CG or by the "
I don't know if it will be implemented until someone suggests it in "Bugs / Suggestions".
The current situation is to caution the gentleman about talking too far along the guidelines, don't force a reply, send a support ticket, and direct his attention to the necessary matters.

If you think so, then maybe so.
So I did it this way.😁

Except this time even Switzerland didn't choose that option. Time will tell.

this is kinda funny just because russian servers are where most of the hacks and cracks are stored.
most russians probably won't even realize they left, since most didn't even realize they were there.

Most Russians cannot buy their products lol. Muscovites are not sorry. It remains to shut down the coffee shops and the hipsters will demolish the Kremlin;)
Steam banned payments with Russian cards, as a result, the hucksters got rich. The authorities don't care.
I only got high-speed internet a year ago, so there are a lot of disks left and a pirate flag (from Assassin's creed IV). All friends are stocking up on books and DVDs, waiting for cheburnet.
I bought 15 volumes of The Rising of the Shield Hero; obviously there will be devaluation again.

There statements are meaningless, they're not pulling from Russia willingly.
It's that they can't do business there, because payments have been stopped at level above. For same reason payments on Steam will fail, even though there's no official statement. (And Steam isn't paying Russian developers for sales, because their payments fail).
Even Nintendo statement is blaming their payment and logistic partners on forcing them to stop.

I`ll agree with others - please post stuff like this in the Ukraine thread so the whole forum doesn't get flooded by it... I do agree with others that there is no need for more and more negativity.
But while we are here, heres my two cents :
At this point it`s actually meaningless.
The sanction list is enormous as of now. While pulling out Adidas and Pornhub would rile people up, the financial and import sanctions are currently killing Russia and those are that matter for stopping the war.
And now that putin has banned certain (electronics, cars, metal products) exports from Russia to west they are absolutely killing their own economy. I can just feel sorry for the russian people who didn`t support putin and his war crimes. To be frank with current sanctions and bans there is no future for russia .. like literally - the country will go bankrupt if it keeps up like this. The country can't survive without money. Rouble is destroyed and economy has been ruined by exterminating import and export.
Could it be that putin actually has been living in his propaganda bubble and has started to believe himself they are a superpower that could survive in isolation ? ...
So - steam or no steam, sony or no sony, it means jack shit to what has already been done to russias economy.

Haven't you heard? Nothing is actually happening. Ukraine is bombing itself and Russia's economy is more prosperous than ever.
So yeah he just joined Trump in Neverneverland, the land where all your dreams come true.

It's not okay for the Ukranians to be persecuted by Valdimir Putin, fine, but why is it okay for the Israeli government to persecute the Palestinians? Everyone has something to say against the president of Russia, but they will turn a blind eye to Israel's oppression against the Palestine and its people that has been going on for decades.
"It took five days for sanctions against Putin and his thugs but imposing sanctions for 70 years of oppression of the Palestinians would not be ‘helpful’."

This will only hurt Russians who very likely DO NOT support Pootin.
It's all a show for PR.

I despise people like you because I despise nazis who discriminate common folk and common gamers simply because of the fact that they happen to be born in Russia. Most of us don't have anything to do with Putin's politics and many of us didn't ever vote for him. We hate what is happening in Ukraine and Russia and are against this madness. Banning gamers because they live in Russia is wrong and ridiculous.
NO TO WAR.

Yes, in general you're right, but in this specific context it's different. The comment about me explained that very well.
My comment is not a universal fact, it specifically me to the OP, or are you gonna throw the context away and nitpicking word by word with me?

Wasn't really clear to me, that you're actively refer to the OP.
Are you thinking about this sentence?
Finally! But better late than never [...]
In that case, zero nitpicking. It's okay to boycott, but wishing it on a country or a group is weird. It's not really possible to separate the country and its people, when it comes to sanctions and such. Like.... it would be really cool of Putin to stop the shenanigans, but at the same time I really don't want Igor Randomovich to starve because he can't sell his art prints worldwide.

What if Putin has a lot of unfinished games in Steam? Then he may just nuke the world for losing his library

And what is Steam waiting for? It's the last major gaming business still operating there. We should only hope it will shut down as well soon.
