There's nowhere near enough exclusives yet to make me drop any money on it.
Just wait until there's a decent selection of games

Well personally I have every intention to get a PS4, just not anytime soon, I need that one game that I absolutely must play, nothing on there makes me feel that way just yet, also, might wait for a price-drop or a slim version, idk, I'm not in a hurry whatsoever

PS4 hasn't any games yet that make me want to have it, so I wouldn't buy one. I'm still contemplating about buying a PS3 for a few exclusives, which is pretty great considering I can get one for dirt cheap now. Other than that I have enough Steam games to play

PS4 will have great exclusives down the line, but I don't think it has any yet, so maybe stick to the PC until a game that you "NEED" to play on the PS4 comes out, buy it and play it, and then come back to the master race. >:)
I would buy a PS4 myself though, if I could find affordable games for it in my country, but oh well, PC is definitely enough for me.

Screw exclusives. Use the money for something better.

IMO its too early in either of the two new console life-cycles (Xbone and PS4) to justify the price tag on either. There is virtually nothing on either machine that I feel I have to play. I adopted 360 relatively early (about a year into its lifecycle) and while I was fortunate enough to avoid the RROD problem for a few years, I felt that the machine really didnt get rolling until Halo 3 came out as thats the year I remember a lot of games coming out that deserved to be played. Until there are more than 5 games that I absolutely feel the need to own that are not available on PC, I'm not getting a new console. I have a PS3 that I still play on the occasion, but I enjoy my PC a lot more for the same reasons you do right now. Its just more economical for me to stick to my PC when I get amazing deals and my PC can compete technologically with the consoles, most new IPs are being released cross platform (consoles and PC), and there are already plenty of games out that I want to play.
I think, sooner, rather than later, that Sony/MS are going to cut the price of these new consoles. 360 and PS3 are still going strong and a large core of people are not as quick to adopt the new consoles this time around. They're going to want these people to make the jump eventually and the best way to do that is by a price cut. I think sometime within the next year we'll see a minimal one and maybe by then there will be enough games that will bring me back to being a more regular console player. I'm also an older gamer (early 30s) and a lot of my closest friends that are gamers are mostly PC-centric, so even socially I'm content sticking to my PC for the moment as my main source of gaming.

What about the people who are PC techs who also play PS consoles? That's quite the blanket statement you've made.
PS3/PS4 just for the exclusives pretty much. All too many multi-platform games, and the MP's that are on the PC you would be better off with over the console counter-parts.

He seems to be set in his ways. All good though. Everybody has a different opinion.

There are PS4 exclusives I'd like to play. I'm happy on my PC; I can play Transistor and Among the Sleep here, and I'll get Witcher 3 and Evil Within on it. But I'd still like a PS4 to play the new Infamous, and whatever Naughtydog does next.

Really? But I see you live in the USA. I live in The Netherlands. Maybe if i look a little further i'll find one, but on every "popular" store it's sold out and they get very small shipments every time.

you will have to keep your pc on? and thats a downside? you should never turn your PC off... turning it on lowers its life span... just like when you turn a rooms light on and the bulb pops..... it pops cuz of the sudden surge of power... now think about the life of your computer when you turn it on over and over for years....
not to mention a 700 watt computer only costs 5 bucks per month if left on 24/7...its not a big deal

Leaving your PC on all the time is not a problem, so long as it is adequately ventilated. Mine has been turned off a total of only a few hours since I built it 4 years ago with no problems. The only downside is you miss out on console exclusives.
Also judging by how the PS2 & PS3 went, I would hold out for when they release a 2nd version of the console, which would most likely alleviate some issues that may crop up with the launch models.

Not worth it man .. save it for something else especially that you have a good PC, no mind-blowing must have games yet, buying a PS4 will also get you stuck with that stupid PS+ subscription (god .. how i hate the idea of paying to play your "purchased games" online!)

Guess i'll just wait untill i really want it. Maybe i'll get it cheaper then too!
I'm still bothered about game prices though.
Sony has an digital store too right? Are there any good deals on there sometimes?

I'm happy with my PS3... which I usually use for Netflix and BluRays. I have a nice selection of games, but I just can't really get into console gaming, which is strange... because that's how I became a gamer in the first place. Atari 2600, ColecoVision, Intellivision, NES, SNES. But, the newer games, I just prefer a mouse for. Or the Wii controller.
Are you a console gamer? Would you get a lot of life out of the PS4? Then buy it.

I've ordered a PS4 in the beginning of february and people around me who ordered it later keep getting it. (not ordered at the same store).
So I was like, ok f*x it, I just cancel it.
But now I don't know if i should order it somewhere else.
If i think about it.
I have a good PC which i use for a lot of things besides gaming.
PC games are much much much much much cheaper with much better deals.
If you actually pay € 50 for the normal edition of a game, you got scammed :P
There is much more choice in games and a lot more indie games.
I can hook my pc to my tv and use a USB controller.
Only downside is that i have to keep my PC on.
So what are your opinions on getting a PS4.
I do like some exclusives on PS though. xD
