Borderlands 2 Missing Base Game??? :s

Hey, not sure if this is where you post for help but im new.

I just picked up borderlands 2 not too long ago on Steam Trades, and i came on here twice and found Season Passes for it. Both times I go to enter for the season pass it says I am missing the Base Game, but borderlands 2 is in my library :s

Could the problem be that i have never gotten around to actually installing it?

Sorry if this has been posted before, i'm brand new here.
