I think Space Rangers 2 - the best game ever made. I'm serious.
A mix of turn-based strategy, RTS, arcade shooter and text quest. I bought the original edition at the release, even before all these stims-egs. They also had a website where records were sent. Table of achievements when it was not yet mainstream.

This version "A war apart" - reissue. Worse than the original. Balance is broken, by new items and quests. Added support for high resolutions - but mods do the same.
