In that case, I'd say Deus Ex, even though it's the only one on your list I've completely played through.
Sometime when you can afford to (and maybe it'll be on Steam by then), grab the whole "D&D Anthology" since there's lots of RPG gems in there (or so I always hear -- I've only played a short bit of BG1 so far).

Deus Ex. It's a classic. The sequel was mediocre and the reboot/prequel (HR) stunk. Play through the original, then look up the Shifter mod. It's kind of like a "Director's Cut," restoring content that was cut but still in the game files. Then play The Nameless Mod (a satire, but longer than the original with two separate storylines and a lot of improved game mechanics).

Yeh, played them all. U7 was the last "great" Ultima, of course, U8 was decent and enjoyable despite the hate, and even U9 had its moments. If we exclude U7, then I'd say you should choose Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 - play them in order, either the Enhanced remake or the "trilogy" fan modification.

Agreed.
Play BG1 and 2 in order. You can play BG1 using the BG2 engine. It's not that difficult to set up. If you can't do the BG's, however, then go for U7 (RPG) or Deus Ex (FPS), whichever you feel like. Keep in mind that you definitely want to acquire and play all these games, including the Thief series.
I have no idea why you would want to skip Thief Gold. Have you already played it?

In this order:
Personal opinion, of course

I'd advise you to keep an eye out for bundles, such as how during Steam Holiday Sales, they not only put things to 75%+ off... But they also generally put together series/franchise bundles with even better savings.
(Mostly for say... Getting the whole Thief collection vs. getting just Thief 2... or getting all Deus Ex Games vs getting just one. I have seen that BG & BG2 + All Expansion thing on amazon though, it's suuuch a good deal since the newer "enhanced" editions are like 5 bucks more for only one of the games, which I'm not sure is even really improved much at all.)

BG2 one of my all time favourites. Don't listen to the people saying play 1 first, the plot is summarised at the beginning of 2 iirc, and the gamepaly of 2 is much better. You can mod 1 into 2's engine fairly easily but 2 is still way better (not that 1 is bad though, still a great game) Alternatively if you are into a story driven RPG just play Planscape:Torment. The others are good games, not sure if 7 is one of the Ultima's that I've played though.

Not for a giveaway or anything (sorry :P), but for myself.
BG2 not the Enhanced Edition, but a complete pack of the original, including Shadows of Amn and Throne of Bhaal.
Deus Ex the first, not HR.
And Ultima 7 with it all as well: Forge of Virtue, Serpent Isle and The Silver Seed.
I'm not too worried about graphical quality, as it seems all three have mods to improve that (or are good enough to begin with).
So....what do you suggest?
