[Suggestion] Giveaway for non-winners

There are groups for such, though they insist on longer time on the site.

Mmm I'm pretty new, and granted I haven't given anything away yet, but I think the way it is now is pretty awesome I don't think there needs to be any "boost"

As Delta pointed out, there are already groups for this purpose.

And I also think that contributor giveaways already encourage new users to contribute, so they can join more giveaways.

I had to enter like 20 times the giveaway you entered before winning something. It's really not a big deal, plus you should contribute more for the sake of giving away, rather than having something in exchange.

it's not for nothing. by giving games away you build up your CV and get noticed, that in turn gets you invited to groups which make it easier to win games because there are less entries in group giveaways and you have bigger chance of winning. contributing on forums gets you in to many private giveaways which also have less entries and also give you bigger chance of winning. and those are just reason for contributing if you want to just win games you don't have. there are also reasons like giving because it feels good and posting on forums to get to know people both of which are way more rewarding than some free you won't play :)

These threads get more and more stupid every time.

As I said "I don't expect to swoop in and grab lots of great games". I'm just thinking from a functionality point of view it would be a nice feature to have. I've given away 3 games, and as a new user I would have loved to have been able to GIVE those games to someone I knew was in a similar situation to me and hadn't yet won anything.

I didn't mean to post this as a "Why haven't I won anything yet!?" type post, I apologise if that's how it came across. It was just a suggestion. I love the idea of the site and of course I wouldn't expect something for nothing (including effort).

Very, VERY roughly, you need to enter around 1000 givaways to win anything. You've entered 14...

I mean, if you contribute more (non-bundled games) then you can enter Contributor giveaways which will boost your chances in winning, since not everyone can enter them.

if you donate some non-bundle games to bump your cv above 30$, that'll give you access to more giveaways. Forum also has a bunch of hidden and puzzle giveaways.

well, today i won my first game, although my other first win was a DLC for alan wake, it just takes time and luck

Wow, a lot of people here seem to be missing the point of your post. Sorry about that.

It's an interesting suggestion, but I don't think it's likely to get approved. Under the current system every entry has the same chance, but prioritizing people who haven't won is going to give more games on average to new users rather than those who stick around and contribute to the community, and I can't see this getting much support. It would be nice to be able to give to non-winners with a certain account age/number of comments/contributor value - combining a CV requirement with your suggested non-winner feature could work well. It's unlikely to happen though so I'd suggest joining or creating a giveaway group with a no wins requirement.

Dude wut? U entered 21 giveaway i entered 1,656 ... And won 1 game, 25k copies from developer.. i had like 90% to win it anyway..

And yes, your suggestion is cool, but there are groups for that, anyway u'll have to stick around this site for longer time to get in one of those groups..I cant enter in any group, i tried, they wont accept me, cuz i won that 1 game :) Tough luck i guess

By that you mean yourself? You don't need confidence to gift. Stick around for more than 2 days, see how everything works and come up with something better.
