This one is a bit harder to plan because I don't want to pre-spoil myself and see if a game has hard/boring cheevos to get. For sure I'll check out one of the 4-5 games won in the past 3 months that I've yet to play and I'll update the post accordingly :3
You don't want to even know if the achievements are easy or hard to get?
Hmm, not quite sure honestly. I'll definitely be playing something, but I'm not an achievement hunter personally so I don't know if I'll meet the criteria or not. We shall see I guess ^^
I'm totally going to do that. Gonna check out what works though :D
And if I have enough cheevos in sg wins O.O
Let me think for a while :P
Total - 38 -> Success! (more than 31)
I usually prefer to play a lot of games at the same time, so there's no chance that I'll finish all of these in August, but let's see how it goes :)
So I guess I've now updated this post for the last time. I played a lot of great games in August (some of them are not included here because they weren't SG wins) and finished four games from this list.
Thanks to skanda for the challenge and to everyone who participated. It was great fun! :)
[FINISHED] - Not up to date, I got more than listed. Not only did I get 31 achievements, I actually completed 31 games (18 SG wins) this month \o/
Total: 199 (+5394)
TIL I can not spell "achievements" right to save my life D:
I'm going on vacation on Thursday and won't be home until the 14th, so I won't start getting achievements until the 15th...
I'm hoping to play several of my wins this month (but for sure I will not finish all of them), so I'm leaving also current state for my reference ;-)
Current status (2017/08/01):
Project CARS 17 / 45
Total War: WARHAMMER 0/172
Half-Life 2: Episode One 0/13
Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel 0/63
I will play my latest win, Tales from the Borderlands, and continue Grim Fandango Remastered.
Updated 16/8. Challenge completed!
Well, since this month's challenge revolves around achievement rather than completion, might as well focus on the non-finishable games I won here.
Great idea! I'll join, starting with Tahira (because I'm in the middle of playing it anyway) and Armello because I keep playing it and still have cheevos to get :)
Tahira: Echoes of the Astral Empire
Tahira: Echoes of the Astral Empire
I remember seeing that game on Siliconera and signing up for their newsletter, but it must have gotten lost somewhere in the vast, wild web. Had no idea it had been released on Steam, thanks!
You're welcome! It's also pretty good, especially if you like games like The Banner Saga.
This is so much easier for me to do! Thus far, finishing a game in a month has been extremely difficult for me. P (I have, however, been playing my wins.) I am going to try to 100% ABZU (the game needs more loving), and plan to go back to Skyrim (my first win) and Cat Goes Fishing for fillers.
I prefer playing several games instead of sticking to one to make sure I can handle enough achievements (so rather playthroughs than completing all achievements on a single game). Also focussing on a single game can be quite frustrating without some variety.
All of those are still unplayed (sorry, I really feel bad about that :( ) and on my BLAEO backlog anyway.
Sometimes I'm glad if I find walkthroughs.
Chapter 1's achievements of AR-K didn't unlock the "Complete chapter 1" achievement properly, so I had to redo the whole chapter and just did a speedrun using this guide.
Done - still playing Through the Woods and I'm not really sure if it's a good idea. So frightening! T-T
Currently playing Red Faction Guerrilla and haven't decided what I'll play next. I'll update later :)
Total: 60. Goal accomplished!!!
This comment was deleted 6 months ago.
I think I'll manage to do at least 1 achievement per day
I am in. Probably not 1 achievement every single day, but I will get enough for whole month. Won too many games in past month, so it will be easy this time.:) Added DLCs for games I am going to play a bit more aswell, so maybe I will get some cheevos here too.
We will see. Very likely some from Back to Bed, others unsure.
[Barely made it]
I will try to earn those 31 achievements in the following games
Wolfenstein The Old Blood.
Once (if) I make it, I will try to finish at least one of those
EDIT: I have managed to beat Revolution Ace and Wolfenstein. I started playing Outlast yesterday (night) but I don't think I can play it through. I feel it's scary but also boring. If I may, I will skip it and go for Orion : Prelude
Thank you skanda, I am so in! I love achievements:)
Achievements were added recently to The Forest, so I will start with that one :D
EDIT1: I won't do The Forest due to some technical issues. I will do Cobalt instead :)
EDIT2: Done! I will keep playing it, but I reached this month's goal already :)
Okay, this time I actually started replaying Fahrenheit to get the achievements, so my wins page won't have that pitiful 0/17 there. I doubt I'll have the determination to suffer it for three different endings, but 14/17 should be a good goal.
(Yeah, I don't have any other win left without play time or nearly full achievements.)
Well, this was at least somewhat shorter than expected. Luckily, I just realised that there is a chapter select and that actually the ending is only decided in the last chapter (so nothing the player did in the entire game actually influences anything, which is cute), so I got all achievements with only a mild amount of additional pain. \^.^/
The first time I participated in a challenge.
But such a small motivation to play my wins does not hurt. ;-)
I'll start with Freebie and Grim Legends: The Forsaken Bride.
After this we will see whats next. :)
Well, I don't have much in the way of low-hanging fruit left, so I might not be able to accomplish this challenge. So we'll have to see how it goes.
Done! Apparently there was more low-hanging fruit in my library than I expected.
Started with Deadlight: Director's Cut, but due to laptop harddisk failure and since current PC can't support 64bit games i can't continue playing. Got almost to the end of game, maybe 1-2 stages left in Act III. Will find some other game to continue challenge...
Playing Primordia next, looks like cool adventure game. Also just won Pony Island and since it is wishlisted game started playing it too :D
Have you played Deadlight in his standart edition? If it, can you please tell me (once you finish the Director's Cut) if it worth to be buyed?
I'm not pretty convinced by the new game mode which this edition includes.
Didn't play standard edition, so i can't compare them. I read they added new game mode and improved graphics, so not sure if it is worth it.
Also Director's Cut is currently on HB Saint's Row bundle in 1$ tier.
Certainly it's a better choice, and if it doesn't meet with my expectations I'll lose only 1 buck.
You're welcome :) Also you get some other great games with it :D
Yeah, it's some kind of consolation prize hahaah.
I'll join in this month!
Away from my computer for most of July so I broke my streak last month ;_;
Let's see if I can fit something in when I come back later this month.
I'm going to play the Warmastered Edition of Darksiders since it was given away for free to all of the original's owners.
Finished Stardew Valley, Michonne, and the single player campaigns in Tekken
Reserved I guess
What a win! Man looking over this thread makes me jealous!
:3 in happy with it :3

I had already created this months attack plan on BLAEO. Some of the games don't have achievements. Here are the game that I will try to finish this August.
Finished 3 games this month. Kentucky Route Zero and Puzzle Agent had no achievements while Puzzle Agent 2 has 52 achievements.
I took some snapshot of Kentucky Route Zero Hall of the Mountain King, Performance at The Entertainment, Passing through tunnel to Echo River Central Exchange and Inside Echo River Central Exchange
I removed the Saints Row II because it would fit "Snapshot" September theme.
Completed Puzzle Agent 2 with 100% achievements. 52/52
Couldn't play The Walking Dead and Hitman: Absolution™ this month, will have to pass them for next month.
Finished 3 games from the list; moving later 2 games to next month's playlist.
Just beat Dead Rising 2 last night, starting on Saints row now

I've unlocked enought achievements to 3 years if every month this was the challenge. This month's challenge looks made for this kind of game, but I'll play some others, to don't feel I've just pick the easy way.
NOTE: The "stats" links redirects to Completionist.me.
I can't understand.
Welp I'm quite happy with my progress, I've completed the challenge and played 50 hours of Payday 2 this month!
I will try with this one, finally! Will start now ✅
sorry the game got so repetetive and it just felt stupid spending so much time on it even though I lost all enjoyment
interesting challenge indeed :D
I think I'll go with a couple of almost fresh wins that seems not to long overall (and with hopefully not that difficult achievements :P)
monthly challenge done, I'm adding one more game just to keep the achievement spree going :D
34, I think I'm set for the month \o/
I'll start with my most recent win :3 I am aiming for 100% so this one game should be more than enough
demm...I'm jelly :P
I started my most recent win yesterday and I've gotten 6 achievements so far.
Edit 1: I finally finished Green Ranch on easy mode and managed to get exactly 31 achievements. I'll need to play on expert mode to get the rest of the achievements, but one of them is really hard. I haven't managed to get gold on all levels on easy mode, so it seems almost impossible to do it on expert mode.
Edit 2: I got another 2 achievements and I'm giving up on it. I can't find the 5th easter egg and I can't finish the last 2 levels on anything better than bronze on easy mode.
I hope it's okay to continue the game I "completed" last month, because even though I finished the story and bonus levels, I still have a lot of achievements to get on my way to 100% (in-game, no DLC).
Yay, victory so soon! Thank you, Anna :)
A long vacation makes me a week late to this challenge, and I'm running low on wins to play, but I'll try nonetheless.
I'll work on Evoland 2 and Strider, and may get to Teddy Floppy Ears: The Race, Frozen Synapse, and Space Run Galaxy.
Edit: Made it past 31! Still working on those games through the end of the month and into next.
I will not be playing much through the middle of the month. But I hope to finish one or more of the following titles:
I'm going to finish the achievements for The Bug Butcher.
An addictive Pang like game really well done.
Aaaand it's done :)
A late start from me, but still plenty of time to get those 31 achievements done.
Sounds fun! :)
I'm currently stuck in Stardew Valley, gonna start with Saints Row: The Third.
nova-111, grow home, dead space, owlboy, bad rats show
Just won a new game so time to go play it as well!
Completed, don't know yet if I will go for Take Thy Trone, first want to finish Stardew Valley :D
I actually forgot to post here this time....
I'll try Tomb Rider:) There is 50 achievments:) If I don't get 31 achievments before finished it I'll look for something else:)
And I've also finished Maize, but that one doesn't have achievements.
August 19th edit: And the challenge is DONE.
Started to take part in the challenge: 17 August
Finished the challenge: -
I hope i'm not late to join, i played a lot and completed some SG won games this month.
The game was won on july, but finished this month
Arrgh, I'm one short! BTW, Bioshock was my first ever SG win about three years ago and I'm just now getting around to playing it. EDIT: OK, I added one more to Ziggurat and am now at 31.
Last minutes hours call :D
Last minute join :3
Play a game that' been sitting in your Backlog forever. Basically choose a game from your last Won page or from your first year on SG or sth like that. Play some of your oldest wins.instead of newest wins ;)
How about "play a game from your first ten wins?"
This is better idea (similar to my "last Won page") - the thing is that time periods vary a lot - 5-6 years ago there were mjuch less GAs on SG, if you won 25+ in your first year you were very lucky or extremelly active, nowadays you can easilly win 40-50 GAs per year from mass publisher GAs only. So "game won in your first year on SG" would not really be fair - someone who is on SG for 5-6 years would have a few games to choose from, while new user sho is around for 1-2 years would probably have over 100 games to chose from. Also users who are on SG less than a year would be at disadvantage. Choose a game from first X games you won on SG would be equally fair to all users no matter how long they are around and how often they win.
It doesn't have to be fair, it's not mandatory to take part :)
I know, but still why having less fair option over more fair one while there is no real difference between them? ;)
What about wins that have been played, but not much? Something like "get at least 50% of the achievements for one of your wins, or 100% if there are only a few achievements?"
I had another idea. "Play at least five hours in any of your won games."
Revise the review from your SG wins that the game itself has been updated since you post the review?
(but I doubt people will write reviews if the game is good enough)
I think this one would make a lot of people unable to complete the challenge as I don't think most people bother writing reviews, I sure don't.
Here's another one: "Play a game you won while it was still on your wish list."
Play a game that starts with any of the letters in September? Looking at my own wins, a lot of them start with either s, t or m so hopefully everyone would have something to play.
Idea stolen from here:
Why? Because they both start with A, of course!
Why? Because they both start with A, of course!
Amazingly, I could do that. (I mean, in theory. Not that I'm likely to actually play a game.)
Play a game without achievements and post some screenshots on steam to prove it :)
Because September = Screenshots :)
I love it!
Great suggestion! It contrasts nicely with this month's challenge.
Nice suggestion, I have 3 such games without achievements on my attack plan.
Take a shot and pick inspiration from last BLAEO theme.:) Beat one of 5 longest games you won on SG and didn´t play yet (of course it will depends on wins and for someone it will be still game with 4 hours gameplay, for someone it will be game with for example 20 hours gameplay).:) Would be nice to see someone to beat these bigger games instead of 20 smaller ones, even tho it wont help with backlog much.
for me it would be 100h+ game probably... impossible to be done in a month for some people ;)
Well it is possible to do it easier for you aswell with some exception like any games with 10+ hours gameplay if you have a lot of extremely long games. Can't even imagine single game where I should spent 100+ hours to beat it (if I don´t count MMO/MP/endless games, which are clearly "impossible" to beat in normal amount of time).:D But with normal gameplay and main story there is not many games with that huge amout of time needed for them (maybe some RPGs).
you'd just have to win 5 long jRPGs for example ;p lots of these require 50+ hours, some require 100h+ :>
Well decent try for these games sounds better? :) Well didn´t expect there is sooo many that long games.:)
And keep in mind that if you like doing a lot of side-stuff, exploring, getting better scores / perfect stats etc it will take even longer ;) Not to mention completing, as completing some games can take several times more than finishing them. Example may be last long game I finished Phantom Brave. Rushed playthrough of Story Mode (without farming Endless Dungeons and without bothering with grindy after-finale quests) took me 24-26h. But if I wanted to just finish all side quests it would already take me additional 20-30h, and to complete the game (aka gain all achievements and unlockables) it takes 170-200h, which is 9-10 times longer than it takes to beat the game if you rush it ;)
also side-note I just thought about ;) for anyone who won several hundred games, not to mention peoiple with thousands of wins, it would be really hard to check out their time to beat for them all to find 5 longest ;)
Well I am not sure, but I am most likely possible to name 5 games I think will need most hours from my wins even without looking for needed times so I don´t need to look for it, but probably just because all of them was in my wishlist and I am well aware of what they need to finish. But you are right, this theme would need a bunch of side-rules if it should be added.:)
Go away, BLAEO treats every single game in the King's Bounty as an individual game ; 48-62-57-78 hours to beat :D
But Kings Bounty series need that love! :D Yeah, you right.:) If that is case, then there have to be some rule as decent try (10h+, etc.).:)
The games are surely nice, just adhd, and the difficulty to focus makes these hours look so scary.... if the game is good it's not a problem, but beforehand it feels overpoweringly too much for me :D
Hehe, I didn't even finish first one KB game myself.:) As I am huge fan of Might and Magic/Heroes series, this one was a bit weird to play. Maybe I will get to it again and get a bit more through it.
I miss you :(
Giving cow meat and meat (on the pizza), but not plants (onion rings)?
Hm. Well at least onion is easy to switch / remove from many dishes. I have friend that doesn't like paprika, and it's like overkill for me xD Many thing taste differently without it, and it can't be exchanged for something else.
I like the idea about finishing what is already started :) But you could also use this month's achievement hunt for games like that, since only achievements earned in August count, noone said that games have to be unplayed :D
And that doesn't make you terrible human being, just terrible backlog killer :P
Make something crazy!
Bump for skanda.
i m always wondering, why people expact that someone will play games he gv?
there r little part of community who entered only aaa or wishlist games, other just spend free points
if u see top gv's with 20 000 copies or more - u ll see there is more entries than any other game, almost same as members here
so dont lie to your own that someone will play your games, people look only for quantity or cards
i m talking before about too big daily points and other ways about enter only games u need - but no one cares
so, u earn what u deserve
yeap, i play last game i win
Checkout the Playing Appreciated group. Members are required to play their wins within one month.
It is true most people don't play their wins, but part of this thread is to encourage people to do so.

Because the point of a video game is to be played. Owning something for the sake of owning it is just ridiculous. Even art/stamp collectors like to stare at their collection or show it to others. Or they are doing it as a long-term investment. A Steam library is not suited for either of those.
Steam should make a VR app where you can put your Steam games in binders like pokemon cards.
Well there are people who do appreciate the winners who play their wins. There are groups like Playing Appreciated, Actually Playing Games etc that promote the "playing" part of the game.
What is the point exactly to have a +1, have a huge library and know nothing about your collection. I bet that most of those collectors don't even know about single thing about most games in their collection. At least it would be useful just to be familiar with the game and recommend other whether to buy the game or not; if they would enjoy it or not; talk about its concept, story gameplay etc.
And like talgaby said there is no long-term investment or advantage to Steam games collection. You know that Steam is just a service right, you don't own anything that you have in your library. It is nothing like the ownership of the physical copy of game disk you have. And if by any chance Steam gets shutdown they are not obligated to provide you any games, your games in the library are lost, forever (I think user from EU don't have to suffer like others).
Another thing is that Steam accounts are not transferable and is a EULA or SSA violation, I don't know if accounts do have expiration date or not but this also makes it useless for long-term investment.
My motivation for giving away games is so that someone else will play and enjoy them. I don't expect it, unless it's a Playing Appreciated giveaway, but I hope for it. I like to think that I'm helping to spread entertainment and joy, rather than just padding someone's library.
Now I just need to win another game with 7+ achievements and with the time to play it before the month is out. ;)
One of them seems to be bugged as I did it and didn't get the achievement, one would require the stars to align, another is time consuming and difficult, and two are "spend X hours watching other people play" - eww.
That leaves 3 achievements that I could complete, but it would be boring achievement hunting for achievement's sake - time I'd rather spend playing a game and having fun - and wouldn't be enough to complete the challenge anyway.
I'm new to the idea of these monthly challenges. Is it just for the sake of the "challenge" itself, or is there some sort of giveaway or other reward for the people who complete it?
Ok, I see :)
I'm going to play my wins either way, but doesn't feel like spending time on creating a chart of those, so that's why I asked ;)
Do you have to declare in advance which games you're going to play, or can you add them to your list as you gain achievements?
Thanks. If nobody pointed it out I might have missed it and not done this in time ;) Feel free to enter if you see anything you like.
I play mine if it will let me..only one i really have problems even starting is Russian Horror Story since there is a vbs file getting locked..but it happens on most visual novels for some reason. Anyways I don't want to post a chart (I wouldn't know where to start anyways.) I mainly play a game if i'm in the mood for it that day..or that hour or whatever.
bump for finished the challenge/need to recruit more people
Bump for half-month mark approaching!
Am I still in time to participate? If so, I'll start tomorrow :D
It's only the 15th. Should work, right? :]
Go, M, go! cheers
We'll allow it.
Bump just because I just 100%ed another win and more people should do so :)
They should and nice work! ^^
Thank you! ^^
Jst bi pravo torto :(
Kje si pa sploh peanut butter najdla? Nikoli v življenju ga še nisem videla v Sloveniji.
Note to self: ko prideš domov kupi nesoljene arašide, ker maš samo soljene.
Upam :D
Thank you! Here is a train if interested :)
I always try to play games I won with priority :)
though sometimes that doesn't quite work out when all my heart wants to do is play Super Monday Night Combat/TF2 ;p
I finally finished TWD season 2. Won it a couple of weeks ago :)
I'm playing @loise39 The Wolf Among Us Win Right now. Just finished episode 2. Great game!
I don't know if you've already figured out what you want to do for September, but here's an idea:
You can use the following chart to keep track.
I'll try to think of something for October, then. )
Well it was a bit harder this month then I excepted (first I tried Shadow Warrior, where I planned to get full set of needed achievements, but game keeps crashing for me, so I had to change my list of games a bit).:) To the top of that, vacation, weather, work, but I managed to finish enough achievements in last two days.
