I intended to write about the problem with the crawler (which sometimes goes days without updating achievements and sometimes updates them almost immediately), the fact that the site is (apparently) maintained by one guy alone and the Completionist (which is a excellent option). Anyway, I think most of you here already know ASTATS and probably stopped accessing the site some time ago, right? So I won't write about my impressions and the forum is open for a few days if you want to comment on something.

I still use the ASTATS because of the guides and to check the playtime of some games and I noticed that the site has less and less users, so I was curious to know how many of you still access it. :)

For those who stop by, I created a GA open to everyone and a GA just for members of the ASTATS Steam group.

See you around!

I must confess that I waited for the crawler to start working again before creating this forum (it was stuck for like ten days this last time).

Well to be exact it was stuck for about 5 days and then sorted but got stuck again in less than a day for about another 5 days.

I'm too dependent on Astats that I check it multiple times per day

The score by users votes / "missable"&"limited" tags / Hours to 100% / dlc marks if achievement is part of base game or specific dlc / the way unlocked achievements separated from locked ones .. etc
many features in one place that help my decision if a game will go to my wishlist or not & help me plan efficiently how to tackle my playthroughs to 100% the games I play

I use Completionist, never heard of Crawler before, I did use Astats in the older days but now I basically forget it's a thing.
Oh and I also use BLAEO but not sure if that falls in the same category.

I use BLAEO too. It's great for managing the backlog! : )

For me Astats helps to give an idea of the difficulty of obtaining certain achievements and actual playtime required to complete a game. It's just a shame that the progress update is so buggy sometimes. : (

Yeah I remember using astats for that as well, now I tend to just check if there is an achievement guide for the game on Steam and check it there and for a lot of games that also works.

I used to use it but I kept having issues with the website, that and with the rare synchs to my steam profile I just found it easier to move to completionist.

Today I use both sites. But it took me a while to get used to Completionist.

Check out Steamhunters too. Maybe you like it.

I use Steamhunters - stable and modern with much more options and filtering. Astats still great with thousand guides, but mostly unusable.

I never managed to "get the hang" of Streamhunters. There's too much information and I'm confused about what each thing means... but I think I need to give it a second chance. : )

Well, I think I'll really give this site a chance. This morning I copied some guides that I had made in Astats to the Steamhunters.

I think that's the only thing missing in SH: more guides. : D

The decline began years ago as the server went down due to a failing HDD. It took weeks to restore the data to a new drive due to budget constraints of the site owner. I still visit the site as I have a constant reminder in using Augmented Steam with Astats being a default link. Right now the crawler is up and running.

On that occasion, if I'm not mistaken, many users abandoned the site (it really didn't update for a long time and I also thought that this time it wouldn't come back).

After that I had the impression that few users were still accessing the site, posting guides, rating games and such. It's sad.

I still use it. I mark it all SG wins w/ "play later" which is nice because it creates a playlist for me (and I can see them based on stats).
It's also helpful to check some achievements' guides.

Oh! This is very practical!

I don't know if you're familiar with BLAEO, but it's a great site to manage games received here at SG.

I use it BLAEO to double check. Every time I complete/ beat a game I go there to add that status to the game.

Yeah i liked it, also for it's guides, the crawler halting was already there for a long time, but now it seems like the only one responsible stopped caring.

Yeah, but I always think it must be a lot of work to manage a site like that. :(

The crawler sometimes goes many days (or weeks) down, but I'm always happy when it's back up and running.

I'm using it whenever I'm trying to 100% a game or at least get as many achievements as I can which is only from time to time. I've actually just noticed the issues with the crawler in the last few days, up until that point it might have taken an hour or so but never a day.

Once the crawler was stopped for more than a month (I don't remember exactly how long it was) and many users simply stopped accessing the site.

When it came back to work, the site kind of had a reset and the stats were computed from zero, which messed with the "rarity" of many achievements. Since only the most hardcore players returned to the site some achievements that were rare before, considering the universe of previous users, became a little more common. At this point I think Completionist or even Steam presents more accurate information about the rarity of achievements.
