Tetris Effect: Connected will be launching on Steam on the 18th of August with a 25% off launch Discount, and a free Digital Deluxe DLC upgrade for a limited time -- alongside the free update to ALL existing platforms on the same day!

Why did it get pushed back from late July?

After such a successful beta with lots of feedback, we realized we would need a little more time to get bugs squashed, and to ultimately deliver a higher quality game. Cross-platform multiplayer with VR is a huge technical challenge, and giving our players the best experience possible is very important to us. So while we know it may be a little annoying -- we think the wait is going to be worth it!

Digital Deluxe DLC and discount

To celebrate the long-awaited Steam launch, we’re going to be offering a 25% off discount for the first two weeks. You’ll also get the “Digital Deluxe” version alongside the base game at no extra charge!

The Digital Deluxe DLC includes:

  • A seven track sampler from Hydelic, including the fan favorite song “Connected (Yours Forever)” (previously only available for a limited time on PS4 and Epic Games as pre-order bonuses)
  • Tetris Effect Profile Avatars
  • 10 Tetris Effect themed 4k PC wallpapers

Kind of surprised they had the license to make this. I remember hearing the Tetris license was kind of complicated.

It is much cheaper and does not need a high end pc.

Not really that high end, although that tetrux online also looks nice. And yeah Tetris doesn't really need flashy stuff.

RECOMMENDED:
Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
OS: Windows 10
Processor: Intel i5-4590 (required for VR)
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 970 equivalent (required for VR)

You don't actually need a high end PC to play it...there's many graphical settings available to tailor it to just about any PC :)

$40 is a lot of money units for Tetris, regardless of VR and fancy pretty graphics and thumping technomusiks.

I had the original Tetris Effect on PS4, and it is great in VR (or on TV). It's from the guy behind Rez, no less. I did turn the visuals down a bit, as sometimes they're too distracting.
I was going for wait for circa £10 on PC, to play at 120fps, but the addition of the multipayer modes (which I'll likely try once) and the 25% off meant I bit at £23.24.

So after playing it a bit this morning, my thoughts are as follows: It's a super chill and zen-like game...very trippy...and it tries to put you in a trance like no other game I've ever played. And it is not merely a game, it is an artistic experience.
