When I was maybe like 10 years old, started playing Quake 2, and it was awesome. Then came Starcraft and Diablo. Also, Duke Nukem 3D.

I got my first PC in 2-nd grade so that means I was 8 years old. But the first time was actually 1-2 years earlier- I remember visiting some friends of my parents in another city and their son (who is several years older than me) was playing Worms(either 2 or Armageddon, not sure which one exactly). That was the first impression and that made me really want games. :D

Oh wow, that's really hard to remember. I was literally one day old the first time I saw a computer (mother is an ex-software engineer and had a terminal brought into the hospital). I probably started playing around... 2... 3? I'm not sure. I know I had educational games, Lemmings, etc.

edit: Oh right, my impressions --- I was amazed. It was like magic to me watching things come to life on a screen and being able to interact with those things. I'm still like that now at 21. :P Probably why I'm so fascinated with programming and so desperately want to be a game dev.

I had one of these PING SHOOT EXPLODE ZAP it had a big manual, and no developer support, so I used to write my own very bad games in basic.

a few were a bit eliza-like although much less dynamic.

I had no friends so I talked to my Oric, I made my oric talk back to me. :)

It was my 9th birthday. 1983.

I played on my brother's MSX back in 1987, I was 4. I probably sucked, but I really enjoyed it.
I remember playing Knightmare, Elevator Action, Zanac, Galaga, Antartic Adventure, Yar Kung Fu, Thexder, Arkanoid, Circus Charlie, Hyper Olympics (first broken keyboard), King's Valley, Rambo III, Road Fighter, and many others.

My brother was pretty anal about me messing with his shit, so he wouldn't let me play many times. I remember he once removed the fuse from the back of the disk drive so I wouldn't use the computer, so what does 6 year old me do? Takes the fuse from the printer and switches it with the disk drive. My very first hacking. :-D

About 5 or 6 when I first started. My parents bought the first computer we had since we just came to America from China and the computer also came with some games (Chess and a racing game).

And yes, I'm a FOP.

Probably around 20. My impression was that it was a terrible experience compared to playing on the Amiga. Or playing on a Commodore 64. Or pretty much anything else. In short, it was a crappy gaming platform.

4 or 5, I was a lucky child who had a computer in my room (mostly because my dad had his own and my room was used as storage) and I remember him taking me to a computer shop in the city that was lined with shelves filled with cardboard boxes... I picked out a DOS point n click called Mixed Up Fairy Tales. Dad bought it for me, we went home, I popped in the 3 1/2 floppy and that was it; my first game of my own. We had Lemmings on the computer before then which I also loved, and a real old Wolfenstein game but that was Dad's and he wouldn't let me play it.

Lots of memories of that old, nasty computer. Windows 3.1, two 5 1/4 floppy drives and one 3 1/2 slot. Yellowed plastic tower with matching CRT, keyboard and three buttoned mouse. Back when the middle button was a thing, haha.

4-7. Around '97-'00. My mom was (still is) very into computers, we must have had about 3 or 4 in the house at the time. I just remember playing Oregon Trail everyday before and after school and then eventually moving on to more sophisticated games like Freddi Fish. Good times...
