Hmmm... so that means they did change it so you can trade invites for games? Not sure how I feel about that.

Though if that really isn't against the rules anymore I do believe the cost of an invite should be raised to the full amount--300pts.

Well it seems that the Rules have been changed and currently only state that people should not trade invites for money. No references whatsoever to games. So I guess this falls to a greyish area of understanding..

Please note, selling invites, or trading them for games is against the rules, and may result in your account being suspended.

Excuse me but I might me missing something here. But where exactly does it say it is forbidden to trade an invite for games? Cause I only see money specified :/ No te however that personally I find the trading of invites ridiculous and if it is in fact not specified in the rules it is an important flaw.

I'm just terrified that SteamGifts is an sinking ship it's already set sail towards it's damnation.

I'm just saying, because you can nicely see how horrible the site has become

You now get nearly 200 points every day (Mass increase in members)

You now has a 0.0001 Percent chance of winning anything (Before the percent was 0.1)

You now have people selling invites for games.

(Country bullshit hating was not intended, please understand I was angry and such couldn't believe what I wrote in anger, i'm deeply sorry and apologize there's probably a lot of cool brazillian and russian kids out there with wealth and fortune too and there's probably a lot of poor ones too, for you all I apologize. Sorry)

So the site has become like a ghost site then?

Just who never made a giveaway within 1 month should get banned?

Sounds reasonable.

OH wait, I would get banned. ;_;

Though I don't think banned would be a better idea rather an more specified way of fixing the "leecher" problem.

Though it surprised me that Cult decided to leave the site after changing the rules around fucking with the basics of the site, aka giving stuff

It's not... People are here for having gifts 75% of them. If it weren't for the people to gift... it would be silly, wouldn't it be?

Seriously. If I don't win a game I just buy it after some attempts. And I'm happy playing it. I know a friend who has 300 points in his account because he doesn't see the game he wants and if he doesn't see it he buys it.

It's racist.

Brazilians and Russians are not ethinic groups and are infact people that come from either Russia or Brazil, meaning that they are not races. Please stop using racist as a catch all.

You know what I meant. He's judging people based on their country of origin. Plus technically one definition of a race is "any people united by common history, language, cultural traits, etc.: the Dutch race." (source dictionary.com)

Lastly, you replied to the wrong person, I'm assuming you meant to reply to me.

I don't see your point blaming the brazilians and russian kids. This site wasn't made to americans only, right? You're no different. You have a lot of entries, no giveaways and just a few comments. Just because you're a older member, it don't gives you the right to complain about the others nationality. I'm brazilian and I think the first part of your comment is really offensive and unecessary to the discussion in this topic.

Anyway, I think its a real bad change (if a mod confirms it) for the site. People shouldn't BUY the invite to join the site.

(Sorry about my english. Like I said before, I'm brazilian and its not my native language.)

I thought I just disliked him for calling out people for not doing giveaways when he has only given away humble bundle games (and marking the bundle as separate games) with a 38% track record. Put this on the list I guess.

Comment has been collapsed.

When he made those HIB giveaways there wasn't a HIB option on Steamgifts yet, so he had to put one of those games and say it was a HIB in the description. As for the 38% received, if people are so greedy and retarded that they can't stop for 5 seconds and read the description its not his fault.

He isn't doing anything illegal as the FAQ has been changed to allow steamgifts invite > games trading. Though TF2 Items are still not viable as it's counted as "money".

Just to clarify for slow people, it is NOT OKAY to trade your invites for money or basically anything of worth (except maybe a small favour to a personal real life friend or something small like that).

In fact invites might be done away with shortly, and then the whole site will be free for anyone to just come and sign up.

So knowing that the idea of this site doing away with invites is being toyed with, how is trading invites ok? What if someone trades a $50 game for an invite, then the next day they stop using the invite system? It's basically scamming, don't do it, and I hope anyone who does gets banned.

I do not know who the fuck changed the "do not trade invites for personal gain" policy, But I'll say that whoever changed that policy, is an idiot. It's technically a scam, even. Because these invites are as free as they it get. People who do not know that these are free if you ask nicely over the group chat, will pay things that they shouldn't in order to get here. What the fuck.

Really. What the hell?
