I can't purchase Final Fantasy IX or I Am Future: Cozy Apocalypse Survival from grenmangaimg

I first tried purchasing Final Fantasy IX using the FIRDAY12 code and some credit I had but couldn't buy it, it said "Unfortunately, you are not allowed to purchase a specific game in your basket.". At first I thought it might be related to the code or the credit but even after removing all of that I couldn't progress past that. Then tried to purchase I Am Future and the same thing happened (not the code since it doesn't seem to apply for this game).

Was wondering if I had some block on my account but then tried with another couple of games and those worked fine, it let me past the "proceed to payment" and took me to the payment option page, so for now it seems to be those two. Does it work for others?

Is it for you or to gift ? Some websites block purchases if you already bought > x copies (for GMG i think it's 3)
(here don't have an issue reaching payment page with FF9, but it tells me you can't stack FRIDAY12 with it)

Tried purchasing for myself first but also tried the gift option for FF IX and it didn't even let me because it has that Black Friday Bonus. I also looked at my history and don't have either purchased in the past, for I am Future I was certain but didn't remember for FFIX but after checking it wasn't there.

In the cart it did apply the discount when I tried for FFIX but since I can't move past that I guess it doesn't work anyway, but even without the discount it wouldn't work.

Yea, GMG doesn't seem to tell its users when a game is region restricted. It's a known issue, but they've never done anything to fix it and support isn't helpful either. It's not an issue on your part.

Was not aware of that. I do know a lot of games that they do sell on their store don't show up on my region, but I guess they might have an issue with some games that do show up but they still don't let you buy them.

Sadly there's nothing you can do apart from switching to a different store or have a friend from another country get the game for you.

Yeah, but I was trying to get those because they don't seem to have many region restrictions on their description and I had some credit on GMG. Buying from somewhere else won't let me use that credit.

Still, thanks for the help.

Kinda weird since there's three restricted key subs for I Am Future: Cozy Apocalypse Survival. Two exclude Mexico but one includes it, so if they sell it in South America, they should also be able to sell it to you.

And Final Fantasy IX doesn't even have any relevant restricted key sub, so that shouldn't be a problem for them either.

Wow, looking at the restrictions for I am Future, it seems there's no key without restriction. So it's strange that in GMG it's listed as "This product has no regional restrictions"

So maybe it was a good thing they didn't let me purchase it and then getting a region restricted key. But yeah, FFIX not having region restriction is weird they don't allow a purchase.

The store sub for I am Future works as a key sub as well, so there is also one completely unrestricted one:

Also: listing it as "This product has no regional restrictions" from their perspective could just mean "We can provide a working key for any region", not that that key itself would work in every region.

Huh, well wouldn't have thought of that.

Very confusing then I guess, because they also have a "This title will redeem in your region of purchase".

It is a complex subject matter and stores oftentimes either don't fully understand it themselves or don't provide full and/or correct information.

In the end, the publishers are the ones deciding about regional restrictions and those are represented in different subs which can be checked on SteamDB, unless there's very recent subs that haven't been indexed yet.
