Rocksmith 2014 has 458 DLC's.
I thought this game had dlc' s of 20 or more songs but after i clicked the (SEE ALL) button my browser crashed, its too serious to be true.

Train Simulator 2015 has 230 DLC's.
Yup this is serious cashgrab, i made the mistake to buy the main game 2years ago and personally not worth for me.

458 DLC's !!!! Man, they could have launched the songs in packs at least...

Some (most?) of them are.
But you also have the option to buy them individually as well.
Trying to do a quick count, the packs bring the total number of DLCs needed to have everything down to 125. Still definitely not a small number. And yeah, it keeps me from buying into it.

[edit]
Also, of course, there's the original Rocksmith DLC too, and you can purchase the DLC add-on import tool to use the original Rocksmith DLC in Rocksmith 2014.

Cost of DLCs = 100 x price of the software.

In the defence of Train simulator, at least they don't make you rebuy the annual version each year, they just upgrade it to the new one. I have to agree though, would love all the DLC, will never happen though unless some kind of crazy bundle or price error. 99% off Train simulator DLC or something along those lines. Still would run about $30 but that isn't so bad.

You do tend to have to buy it again though. When TS2014 upgraded to 15 you only got the new game engine and it's new features. To get the content that came with a new purchase of 2015 cost more than purchasing a new copy of 2015.

Yes, each year's release is basically a collection of DLCs with a few routes and locos in a bundle.

You can just wait for sales and buy it each year - I think it was 80% off the other day and it works out ok if you do it like that. In between times if there's any route you really want then go ahead an buy it individually. I got a route that goes within about a mile of my house and I've travelled on it a few times so it had an extra appeal to me. Also picked a couple of the cheap novelty routes in the shape of The Holiday Express and The Count of Monster Disco as I thought they were cute.

Not really a train fan myself, but the game is relaxing to me. It has a similar sort of vibe to Euro Truck Simulator, only with trains.

30 euros? Who the hell pays the price of a full game for a DLC?

The game plu all DLC equals 2000$...

Well you're probably not target group of Train Simulator then.

Also why would you want all trains when one is enough to play?

It's more of giving choice than forcing you to buy all dlc.

Train Simulator isn't grabbing for cash. It's providing train fans with what they want.

If you don't get it, then you don't get train fans.

I want a real answer from a train fan if he/she wants to pay their salary to get Horse Armor :P

Well, they don't? they are fans of trains not horses! Seems like you're unable to empathize with collectors.

Those DLC required a lot of work and research to be as accurate as possible for the people who demanded them.

Like i said, answer from a real train fan.
Think a more succesfull game like Assetto Corsa with 200+ car DLC's priced 14€ each.

"they are fans of trains not horses!" search-> 'horse armor dlc' on google, or better this, i wasnt mean horses lol

You are laboring under a misconception about what these DLCs are. These are not modern video game DLCs: parts missing from a game, being charged extra for. Think of it as a REAL train set. You don't buy everything a company offers simply because it's there.

Clearly, they would purchase what they are interested in. Everyone has their niche. You buy the engines you are a fan of. You buy the lines you are a fan of.

It's a train set. For people who like trains. It is not like RTW2 charging ten bucks a pop for "extra" factions which were fleshed out and playable from the start but culled out for DLCs.

I own the game, and some DLCs, but they were a gift. It's a neat idea, but I haven't been excited over trains since the 90s and that's because they made the crossing by my house at the time an underpass instead of a level crossing and then I didn't have to wait for coal trains to crawl past anymore.

I agree with everything you said.
But we are gamers and not business man (here), as a customer of their game which i paid i have my own opinion which you need to accept, as i accept yours. :)

Psst train fans, you can experience real train rides for a month with that money.:P (damn i said it)

Train fans can also drive real trains, with the proper schooling and certifications and many many years of experience doing other rail jobs to build up enough seniority in the union.

I give you: Sword of the Stars: The Pit and it's DLCs.
-Sword of the Stars: The Pit - Juggernaut: This content requires the base game Sword of the Stars: The Pit - Gold Edition DLC on Steam in order to play.
-Sword of the Stars: The Pit - Gold Edition DLC: This content requires the base game Sword of the Stars: The Pit - Mind Games on Steam in order to play.
-Sword of the Stars: The Pit - Mind Games: This content requires the base game Sword of the Stars: The Pit on Steam in order to play.
Game is good, based on the reviews, but this is definitely a strange thing :)

That's nothing new, really. London 1961 (mission pack for GTA1) required having GTA: London 1969 add-on.

... you could buy yourself some new parts for your computer with that much money. I mean, jesus, over 1500-1800 euros? And I though Borderlands 2 or modern COD games dlcs were insane.

For the purpose Rocksmith 2014 serves... I think it is not expensive. I've had private teachers in the past and at times several classes were needed just to learn how to play a certain song, It was a lot more expensive than it would have been purchasing this game plus the DLC of said song.
