As of now I'm even more discouraged in creating giveaways than before.

Reason is simple: CV system is a total mess, because of constant readjusting. In last week I didn't give away anything, but my CV floated like this: 2.06 -> 1.97 -> 2.34 -> 2.07. Quite a big margin, and I'm not a very active member of community, I could imagine that there are a bigger casualties like that.

So, is there a way to fix it steadily? You know, all games will eventually come up in bundles and on big sales, so this system will never work properly as it is.

I dropped 0.70th of a level at level 5... I lost so much due to a bundle game getting added to the list. It happens, just accept it and move on.

I recommend getting steam enhancement to check if a game has been bundled/been at 85%+ discount and checking the bundle list: http://www.steamgifts.com/bundle-games

well, you just can't expect full value for bundle games. they are always added to the list, sooner or later. i mean, how much did you pay for those games? a few cents each, probably. 15% value is quite fair then, don't you think? the only confusion happening in this case is, that the games get added with a delay. and that's just because one guy has to add them manually.

I didn't expect full CV after I seen it was bundled on enhanced steam.

I don't care about CV anymore, I did before but that changed over time... I'm not complaining about the loss, I'm just pointing it out that its something all levels go through. And no actually I bought the game at around 50-60% off. As you said, it is manually added so since my GA was created way after the actual bundle of it (I believe it was tier 2) it was then bundled. But yes, I do like the 15% CV value for bundle games, I enjoy the system... I believe you must have misread what I was trying to say to the OP. I was only giving advice on how to check just incase they do ever pay more than the CV value they receive.

No, the CV system isn't a total mess ... Steam pricing and half a dozen different bundle sites are a mess.

CV just reflects current Steam pricing and bundles. The system is working fine and is supposed to have its own sort of degradation over time built in, or we'd all be level 10 eventually.

I basically hate this bundle search system the game/dlc wont show unless i type full name , i prefer old list page .

You can search with a partial name, or just scroll from page to page if you're really patient

Will CV system become less chaotic eventually?

Nope.

Just give away stuff and eventually your level will go up. Sweating over every fluctuation is only going to cause you unnecessary stress.

What you're describing isn't the bundle list, really. CV is tied to Steam Store values which fluctuate often and especially around sales.

That said, there were certainly less games being added to the bundle list before regional giveaways were introduced.

And to think that Putin could easily do away with regional pricing by taking over the rest of the world and making everywhere glorious Russia!

cv is tied to the steam store, which sometimes returns wrong values.

and concerning bundles, the list keeps getting worse over time.
more crap games released + more discounts + more humble bundles = more and more games added.

The main culprit when CV goes up & down like that is when a collection containing a specific game that you've given away gets a price lower than the price of the individual game, at which point Steam will report the price of the collection. This is an issue with the steam API, and I guess it would be quite hard to fix, unless SG gets set values for each game, and everything needs to be manually edited.

What is considered "heavily discounted" when for when non-bundled games get added to the "only gives partial CV" list?

95%, taking into account Russian price as well. So it would be around 85% in US store for some games.

Really bundled games should stay as it is 15% off full game value , while Heavy discounted games on steam etc to count 40-50% off full value .
I think people would complain less and would still make GAs for games like atm Wolfenstein: The New Order and The Evil Within , with current situation doubt anyone will even bother making GAs for those games =/

there must have been a policy change then, since up until recently 85% discount on steam store didn't mean the game would be included in the bundles list.... definitely a shift in policy.

It's just that Russian prices are getting that much lower that games hit the magical 95% line... Which might be the issue currently.

What Ekaros said. The 95% policy is for any region compared to the US dollar. Since RU/CIS games are already cheap to begin with, when a sale hits 85% in the USA it often pushes the sale price over the 95% threshold in RU/CIS. Unless the game in question isn't available in that region.

thanks guys. I understand now. it's a shame because ultimately those games won't be appearing often on sg as of this...

"As of now I'm even more discouraged in creating giveaways than before."

Only advise I can give for that, is to just ignore the CV system with all it's weirdness, give when you feel like giving, and roll with the flow.
Whatever benefit you'll get from CV becomes a bonus that way, not a goal.
