I apologize. I got a little confused about the site interface and made a mistake. It turns out everything is fine.

Yes, just unlikely.

But I think this is real, although unlikely. The guy is lucky.

The chances of winning the 3 consecutive giveaways by the same person is approximately 0.0000116%
He could have used this luck in some other important thing in life and perhaps become a millionaire. That's how I see it

I would of thought that number was far far smaller considering the varying amount of entries in each.

That's the chance of all 3 being won by one specific person, but the question is really about all 3 being one by any one person. There are somewhere between 1 and 179 people who entered all three giveaways, so the chance of any one of those entrants winning all three could be as high as 0.0021%

That's what we all thought at the start (1 person winning all 3), but later on the moderators clarified the situation

Maybe some RNG bug if they ended all at the same exact time.

It should be "They did", as he is talking about the same person winning his giveaways, not him winning theirs.

EDIT. Cool story.

I was referring to "You did" as in they are the one who created the 3 GAs and the same person won them.

I see. Now that I've had a look at the comments in the giveaways I understand what he means.
I saw that the actual winners hadn't received their gifts, so I hadn't looked too far into it.
The OP hadn't made mention that it was comments that he was referring to.

It's okay, np. After looking at his reply to what that person posted in the GA I'm guessing the OP is confused that person making the "win" comments won. I posted a comment on the GA so hopefully they won't send the games to that person.

I'm confused by the thread because the 3 giveaways weren't won by the same person, just someone who didn't win that posted they won on each GA. I'm guessing the OP might not be familiar with things on SG and thinks because someone posted they won the GA they actually won it.

Probably uses a bot, I've had winners that were online 24/24 but only activated after few days. There are also bots that auto comment on entry.

Note: Adding a comment "win" to a giveaway does not indicate that one has actually won anything.

Adding 3 same comments simultaneously on 3 different giveaways does however indicate that it's a bot.

I was trying to help a relatively new user understand the situation better. You should refrain from calling out other users.

If you notice a user not following our guidelines, do your best to politely explain our rules with relevant links or quotes to our guidelines when appropriate. If they do not take action or deny any wrongdoing, please submit a user report ticket so we can take action if necessary.

I also disagree with this statement. I've gone on entry benders at 4 AM and no sleep where the smartest thing I can type for a giveaway is "Thanks or Thanks for the chance".

Permalink

No, the smartest thing is not to say anything. No-one wants 50 messages of "thanks" spammed in their giveaways.

How hard is it to manually enter three one-word comments in one minute? This is very far from definitive proof.

Unfortunately the site only shows HH:MM and not the seconds, so yes I could be wrong. Perhaps moderators could see the exact time the comment was posted and if all 3 were typed in just 1 second, then it could very well be the case.

Furthermore those comments weren't made after the giveaways ended, but upon that user entering those giveaways.

So... I guess OP just got confused?

Moral of the story: Don't create level zero giveaways.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

how would that change? the higher the level, the less people enter the giveaway -> chances are higher to get the same winner three times. the only difference: on higher levels might be less people who enter every giveaway, but that is just an assumption.

what he could do: give more time to enter. this way more people win enter and the chance to get the same winner in all of them will reduce. he even could let them start on different times, cause most of us are not online 24/7^^

It would lower enters of people who haven't read rules and thinks typing "win" on comments will make them win giveaways.

The two parts to the question are: "is it plausible that the winner won fairly?", and "is it plausible that the winner cheated?".

I'm assuming that this is your most recent 3 giveaways. In that case the chance of them being won by the same person is around 1 in 47,864. Those odds are very unlikely for any given instance, but likely enough that it's bound to happen eventually, so I'd say it's perfectly plausible that he won fairly.

On the other side, is there any way to rig giveaways in your favour? I don't see how that can be done (aside from breaking the rules by using alt accounts, which isn't the case now as they were won by the same account). Cheating is not particularly plausible.

So all in all I think it's safe to say that the winner just got very lucky and won fairly.

Okay, so according to FateOfOne it's just someone who wrote comments claiming that he won, but didn't actually win.
