Is there any fan translation of the PC-98 release?

The original PC98 version was remade and fan translated for PC. There are a lot of differences from the new release as the reboot expanded the game quite a lot, but you still get an idea of what the game is like.

I loved playing the PSP version. I want the 3DS version as well, if New Zealand gets it on eShop, or PAL regions at least get the physical copy. Last time, I had to get it on my US PSN account because New Zealand was ignored.

Not so sure I want it on PC. Part of the reason I enjoyed it on the PSP was playing in bed, in the dark, when I should be sleeping. When I'm on the PC, its typically earlier and in a bright room so I can see the keyboard. doesn't work so well for horror. :P

It can only be good since it's XSEED.

I've watched the anime. That one had a terrible ending. Read the manga. That ending was a bit better. Read about the endings in the game. Realized that all of them do not end well ..... But I still might be interested to actually play it. And save at least some of those poor souls.

For anyone that doesn't mind spoilers, here is quite possible the creepiest ending in the game in my opinion. It left me unable to brave more of the game for a week.

Also, wondering if Jatan will pop into this topic, I know he enjoyed this on PSP as well.

A flood of anime style games is drowning us. If i see another pair of those giant eyes, i have to yell at my computer really loud.

it is not hate, i just can't stand it, if there is a wave of unimaginative copy and paste games that all have this annoying style.

This one involves them dying in horrible ways

Do they die most of the time or not? If it is only like 1/3 dying and 2/3 looking at me with their huge eyes wearing stupid school uniforms and having huge boobs, i will skip this.

Its a Japanese horror game. What do you think? It has some particularly disturbing bad endings (one left me unable to return to the game for a week), though the voice acting on the PSP helped make it, and this uses different voice actors.

And also, from the previous comment, you seem to think this is just something doing this style because everything else is. Its a remake of a game that is almost 20 years old (the original released 22nd of April 1996). The original used the same type of style, though really not as pretty.

This original looks better.
I am not talking about the art style itself, but about the depiction of humans.
I just can't stand this stupid, sexualized big eyed cuteness stuff.

Japanese made awesome games, like Seiken Densetsu.
This game had none of this bullshit anime big eye stuff and was great.

If games want to be taken seriously and not just played by 15 - 30 year old virgin boys that throw buzzwords around like "kawai" or such stupid stuff, they should apply some mature art style to their characters. That is what I am talking about.

But this is just my opinion, i know there are thousands of people who love this kind of thing out there.

I love this series, ever since it first released on the 9801.
The PSP and Vita versions have a permanent place in my heart.
Though, the manga had a little too much focus on パンツ, the OVA made up for it with beautifully animated sequences.

wohoo, even more awesome console only games coming to PC

i hope they will also bring Book of Shadows on Steam

I just hope this game will be more low end pc friendly than Danganronpa

The version predates the PSP games, and was by a different developer so is unlikely to result in the other two games on PSP / Vita.

Book of Shadows and Blood Drive were both made by Team 5pb, not GrisGris (Grindhouse). It's pretty much entirely up to them if these games ever come and they don't seem very interested in a PC release for them.

As for Corpse Party 2: It is being made by GrisGris, however, 2 years ago they halted production in order to remake Chapter 1 in Unity and there hasn't been a peep since.

Different versions of this game that will be available

Corpse Party BloodCovered [BC5] (PC): GrisGris

  • Original version of Chapters 1-4 (slightly different intro, particularly when it comes to Satoshi and Naomi's character introductions, a few different scenes here and there)
  • Updated version of Chapter 5 (released after BR, includes new and extended wrong ends and gameplay)
  • Extra Chapters 1-3 and Tooth
  • Different BGM tracks (particularly in Ch1 and Ch5) and amateur voice cast
  • Kedwin's original New Chapter and BloodCovered art for Ch1-5, Kamishiro's version of characters for Tooth (based loosely on Nino's BR art)

Corpse Party BloodCovered...Repeated Fear [BR] (PSP/iOS): Team 5pb

  • Updated version of Chapters 1-4, with modified and additional scenes
  • Original version of Chapter 5
  • Extra Chapters 1-10
  • Vocal OP/ED/insert songs and full professional voice acting
  • Nino's character and CG illustration
  • Updated BG art, map sprites resized from BC

Corpse Party BloodCovered...Repeated Fear 3DS [BR 3DS] (3DS): Team 5pb

  • Primarily like BR except as noted
  • New Ch1 wrong end and a few of the BC Ch5 scenes/endings added to Ch5 (new content not voice acted by 5pb. actors)
  • Extra Chapters 1-14
  • Updated OP song from BR
  • Nino's character art, CG illustration, 3D stills
  • Updated character map sprites (32x32 rather than 16x16 tile sprites)
  • Updated touch/pause menu (?)
